Oops - my fault on the length/distance thing. I changed labtrash’s questions up a bit. In my mind, distance is really long, length is kinda short. Hence, distance (not miles) and length (not inches.)

And of course, it doesn’t matter if they’re technically the same, if they generate different sorts of answers. While I could describe the distance to M31 in inches, or the length of a piece of string in lightyears, I wouldn’t.
