Good luck and God bless, **Skald**. Please come back one more time after your surgery to let us know how you’re doing. And know that you’re always most welcome here, so if your vision permits or technology exists for you to come back at some point, we’ll leave the light on for you. StG ---

**Skald** , you are one of the most unusual and fantastic people I have ever encountered; my life is better for having known you. You will be missed, sorely missed, here on the Dope but we have as consolation the knowledge that you are living the life you want and the hope that it is making you happy. Be well, friend. ---

Best wishes and best of luck. And tomorrow I’m taking a couple pies into work and leaving them in the break-room. I won’t explain them - I don’t have your talent for words. But they will be appreciated almost as much as I have appreciated you. \ ---

Hey, man. Good luck with the surgery and doing whatever can be done about your vision. I certainly understand you not wanting to waste limited vision on symbols on a screen posted by strangers but… Surely there is a way one could interact with the SDMB even if they had no vision at all. Voice assist? Braille? Other? (If you were to so choose, of course!) Good luck! ---

Good luck! You probably don’t like me much but I adore you. I am extremely sorry this happened to you. Modern medicine is a weird thing though and these things are always unpredictable. Whatever the case, you will be remembered fondly and you may even make it back here someday. ---

I’ll miss your humor, your sarcasm, and your intelligence. May the surgery go as well as it possibly can. I think you’re making the right choice in how to spend your time going forward, but know that your absence here will be greatly noted by all of us. ---
