Best wishes, Skald. I can’t count the number of evenings and car rides **oft wears hats** and I have spent discussing one or the other of your hypotheticals. They’ve always brightened our days. 🙂 ---

I am a bit late here, but your courage both inspires and humbles me. Many good wishes are headed your way. Oh, and a cyber teddy bear filled with hugs. ---

I’m sad. I’m not sure you will read this (pardon the pun) But I have been mainly a lurker here since the late 90’s, in another name I was a charter member, and since the place has gotten a bit quieter your threads have always made me laugh. My daughter has much of the Skald approach to life and I hope once she achieves her goals of world domination and secret lair building she will turn her powers (of eeevil) to cure all forms of blindness. From a stranger far away, stuck on a ship. Good luck and many happy years. You sir shall be missed. ---

I just figured out what was going on. Hang tough. I will miss you. Get so much better with all the good being sent your way that you will want to & be able to come back. ---

Yes, I too will miss you and maybe more than others. Since you are leaving now, I’ll confess that I use (some of) your hypotheticals in my adult English classes. Now I’m going to have to find more material and I don’t have your tremendous talent. I think we’ve been though some similar experiences and I can really relate to a lot of what you post. Hang in there. Remember you can also get support here. ---

I am truly sorry to hear of your difficulties and wish you every success with the operation and a speedy recovery, **Skald** - good luck with it all, thank you for your amazing contributions over the years, and take care of yourself. 🙂 You’ll be missed! ---

Yet another voice that hopes that you’ll find some way to re-join us, but agrees that your family must take higher priority. Or, in other words, I’m fighting the hypothetical, as always: The correct answer to “what if I could never visit the boards again?” is “You’ll find some way to do it anyway”. ---

You will, as has been said many times, be missed. The fire breathing monkeys less so. You… you are taking them with you, right? Maybe you can swap a few for some ravens, that seems like the appropriate thing. Hopefully you’ll be able to drop by every now and again, when you need a little distracting. ---
