I’ll offer a few of ‘em, let’s see how many we come up with. The final list should really not exceed 15 or 20, since some of us can’t stay out all freakin’ night at an awards banquet that never ends. 😉 1. Most Irritating Hijack. 2. Most Sublimely Brilliant Post by a newbie. ( that is 25 posts or less). 3. The Post by **handy** that we all loved/hated the most. 4. Hottest Pit Rant. ( Judged by **DuckDuckGoose** , if her schedule allows 😃 ) 5. Most intricate G.D. thread. 6. Dirtiest flirt thread. 7. Dirtiest Non-Flirt thread. 8. Least Likely To Be Named Moderator. 9. The Marble Moartarboard Award, given each year to the Doper who has made the finest contributions to the world of Dopedom. Fashioned after Slug Signorino’s depiction of Cecil Adams as a turkey wearing a mortarboard, this attractive yet extremely heavy award is suitable for wall mounting, assuming you have reinforced walls. 10. Hey Cartooniverse, I’d like to have categories for: 1.) The Silliest Doper 2.) The Doper Who’s Flirted in the Most Fora I mean, really. How else am I going to have a chance in hell of winning any kind of Wally? :0) But to add to the list: 1.) Most Patient Doper in the face of unwavering ignorance–I’d nominate tomndebb 2.) Most Feared Doper–[giggle] I’d have to nominate Collounsbury, although I still don’t understand why Dopers are afraid of him. He’s such a sweetie. 3.) Doper With the Best Sig I’m sure I’ll think of others. ---

Um, yeah, thanks Opal, I was just gonna say that this sort of thing has, historically speaking, frequently ended in tears. ☹ I know of at least one senior SDMB poster who was so hurt by what she was voted during one of the “popularity contest” go-rounds that she left the Boards and was gone for a LONG time. And IMO she was sorely missed. Given that, I must respectfully decline to be a judge in the Best Pit Rant contest. ---

I vote for the Most and Least Potty-Mouthed Posters, and the Fast Fingered Newbie Award for posters who jumped on the board and stacked up post counts like an express elevator. How about one for least posts with a long time membership? Say a year or more. ---
