Wow, my post is so important it gets its own page! Another option may be the new bar just south of Wrigley Field called **Johnny O’Hagans**. IIRC they have a pretty cool downstairs room that doesn’t get used a lot - I’ll check it out Sunday night after I drop the kids home. And yes I **am** trying to steer it towards a place with good Guinness! If we want to continue the hallowed bowling tradition, we may think about The Lucky Strike or that other place on Southport that has bowling lanes, what’s it called?? Oh Yeah, Southport Lanes;) Or for the true beer kindasewers hows about Goose Island Brewery? ---

O’Hagans and Gunter Murphys are both excellent places. O’Hagans has been packed everytime I’ve been there, but I haven’t been there since late summer, which was still pulling the “brand new bar” crowds. That middle couched area at Gunter Murphys would be excellent as long as they aren’t doing a band that night. ---

I’ll make sure there’s at least one bottle of champagne wherever we end up. Re: **Gunthers** ; There aren’t couches in the middle area, just barstools and little tables that can easily be arranged/separated for conversations. I’ll check on bands that night. It can get busy, but if we stake out the area it tends to stay ours. O’Hagans is always packed but like I said I’ll check on the cool snugs downstairs- much more comfortable and secluded for when the clothes come off;) [sub]now there’s a tradition to be started[/sub] ---

I’m ok w/starting a “drunken naked ChiDopers on couches in the basement of an Irish bar” tradition, but will stop at the “drunken naked bowling ChiDopers” tradition. Unless I’m realllllly drunk. But maybe drunken naked bowling will improve **Joph** ’s score. 😉 ---

i work midnights, i will find out what i am scheduled and see if i can make it. i may skip going out on new years eve ,to make it to a dopefest. afaik, i do have the 31ST Off, heres hoping i can get the 6th !! ---

I’m really curious what bar I’m thinking of if its not Gunther Murphy’s. I swear it had a couple of couches to the right side when you walked into the middle room. Granted its been about 2 years since I’ve been there. Anything is fine with me. ---

Oh man I was really hoping that I was only dreaming about posting last night!! **Android** , my night started at half one yesterday and it was speed drinking for all involved, so by 12:15 I was gone;) Was there another party last night that I missed/was kept in the dark about?
