I seem to recall that a couple of years back the first Straight Dope column was made available on the website. But I can’t find it now. Is it still around? I seem to recall it was a “around and about in Chicago” type of thing.

Alternately, can someone reply to this post with the standard “In “Comments on Cecil’s Columns,” please link to the thread you are discussing.” reply, and then post the link? 🙂

From the [front page](http://www.straightdope.com), click on **FAQs, etc.** , then on **What was in the first Straight Dope column?**

Here it is: [http://www.straightdope.com/faq/firstcolumn.html](http://www.straightdope.com/faq/firstcolumn.html)

Hmm. The link from the front page to the FAQs page doesn’t seem to work. The FAQs page is here: [http://www.straightdope.com/faq/index.html](http://www.straightdope.com/faq/index.html)

Thank you. Hadn’t looked at the FAQ’s in a while. Looks like it’s time to refresh my memory.
