Tonight there will be hockey! The jerseys are ready, as are the flags for the car. All I have to do is make it through the day. It has been a long summer. Fortunately I still have an entire bag of Hershey’s dark chocolate kisses to help me make it through the day. ---

Here we are at Friday again. The weekend looms. Hopefully the looming won’t have anything to do with dumb ol Wilma. 😛 We had barbacue chicken last night with some nice zuchinni squash. I haven’t grilled chicken in a while but it came out real nummy. All this talk about dark chocolate and kisses and whatnot is just killing me. I am struggling with the five pounds that set up squatters rights since I quit smoking and am determined to evict those suckers so knock it off already. 😉 Tupug ---

I know that a cottonmouth is a snake and/or a hockey player. But it has a different primary meaning for me, and it took me a moment to understand why anybody would _want_ to be that thirsty. I haven’t finished my coffee yet. So, tonight I’m going out to dinner with Mom, who’s up for the weekend to help me look for a condo. (Note: If your parents say “How 'bout we buy you a condo?” you must at least give them the satisfaction of helping you look for it. And yes, I’m wicked spoiled, but at least I’m aware of it.) We’ve got four places lined up to look at tomorrow, and I’m very excited. I have visions of falling in love with some cute little townhouse and making the offer right there and then and having a new place to live by Christmas where I can have a _real tree_ and a _dishwasher_ and I can _paint the walls any color I want_ and _do my laundry inside the house_ and _have a party without worrying about the people downstairs_. I realize this is a process that takes months, in most cases, but I am **The Empress of Instant Gratification** , and I want to move _now_. **Ashes[sup]2[/sup]** can tell you how much our apartments suck. 🙂 ---

I came _this close_ to making that chocolate cake. I printed off the recipe and actually took it with me to the grocery store. But cooler heads prevailed, as I was reminded that the entire house needed vacuuming (and possibly the living room carpet run over with the shampooer), the sheets in the guest room needed changing and Intensive Tidying needed to be done in preparation for the Arrival of the In-Laws. Couple that with the chili I’m making for dinner tonight, and you get no time for decadent cake. We grabbed some refridarated dough and called it Dessert. There’s been talk of going back for ice cream, too–so the downward pants movement project is probably temporarily on hold. I should be re-arranging my office now in preparation for The New World Order (yes, I welcome my new PR overlords), but I’m too lazy. I may have more adorable photos soon. Cherry Baby was running around like a mad thing in all his nakkie splendor last night, so naturally we have a bazillion new photos. ---

Spray inside of crockpot with nonstick cooking spray. (2-3 1/2 quart cooker). Mix first 5 ingredients in medium bowl. Stir in milk, oil and vanilla until smooth. Add nuts. Spread batter evenly in crock pot. 2. Mix brown sugar and cocoa together, add hot water and stir until smooth. Pour evenly over batter in cooker. 3. Cover and cook on HIGH for 2- 2 1/2 hours or until toothpick inserted in middle comes out clean. Turn off crockpot; let cake stand UNCOVERED for 30 minutes. 4. Spoon into dessert dishes, ladle sauce over cake. (we usually skip the 30 minute wait, and gob this over vanilla ice cream). I dunno how choc chips or similiar would melt down in this recipe. Perhaps if they were added during the 30 minute wait period–hmmm. Think I’m onto something here. ---

Beat with mixer or by hand until smooth. Pour into greased 13x9 pan. Sprinkle chips over top. Bake at 350 for approx. 35 minutes. Note that this can easily be converted into a rich chocolate cake by using choc cake mix, choc pudding mix, and choc chips. Actually, that’s the original recipe, but I needed a non-choc cake one time and invented this alternative. It’s really easy and quick to make. And really doesn’t need frosting because it’s very moist and nummy on its own. Although some ice cream wouldn’t hurt! All these recipes this week! It’s great! ---

I am inspired to add to the MMP Decadence Cookbook. This is kind of unusual, but believe me, it’s abo-frickin-lootly delicious. \*\*The Word’s Best (And Easiest) Chocolate Pudding \*\* From _Vegan Vittles_ by Joanne Stepaniak 1 10.5 oz. package lite silken tofu (firm), crumbled 2/3 cup unbleached cane sugar 1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder 2 tsp. vanilla extract pinch of salt Place all the ingredients in a food processor fitted with a metal blade and process until smooth, creamy, and thick. Transfer to a storage container, and chill the pudding in the refrigerator until serving time. Yield: 1.5 cups You don’t have to use unbleached cane sugar. I use regular, or fructose. ---
