ooh–I like aliens. Aliens AND home improvement would be great! Hope you like the “cake”. I have cut out the black felt for the cape. My youngest wants to be a vampire for Halloween); I need to cut out the red “silk” lining. I am sad–my sister used to help me with the kids’ costumes every year. I can barely sew a straight seam; she could tailor. Over the years, we have made witch, princess, Ewok, crayon, Laura Ingalls Wilder, knight, Lego, Pokemon and jaguar costumes–oh, and Harry Potter, and a rook in chess, and Gandalf, too. Leigh, I miss you. (sorry, guys–didn’t mean to deflate the thread). ---

I was thinking about aliens who beamed down to help with a home improvement project, drank up all the beer and then stiffed the pizza delivery guy. Too much to hope for, huh **Sean**? ---

That, and they’re more prone to be nice and clean-cut, and slightly balding and/or slightly graying, which I find sexy as all get out. ---

I still have two hour and twenty minutes to before I can go home. This, of course, being dependent on whether or not there any last minute projects/emergencies/fires to deal with. There probably won’t be though. I am feeling particularly burned out today and seem to run out of “get up and go”. We’re going out for Mexican food tonight. My sister-in-law is in town, so she wants to go out to dinner with us, her son, and her grandaughter. She hails, interestingly enough, from Green Acres. I’m not overwhelmingly thrilled with the choice of mexican restaurant, but it’s where my nephew and his daughter want to go, so I’ll deal with it. Well, even though I don’t feel like it, I better go back to actually working. ---

I’m a woodworker!! Go me! I downloaded some plans for a jewelry box the other day, and today, I came home from work early to start working on it. We were going to make it with the hunk of maple we have, but there wasn’t quite enough of it, so it’s going to be black walnut. We planed and jointed and resawed and cut up all the pieces to rough sizes. Three panels are glued up and drying - I got to use the biscuit cutter on one of them. By we I mean my sweetie was teaching me how to use the assorted power tools that I’ve not used yet. On the way back from my ceramics class tomorrow, I need to stop and get a piece of velvet or velour or felt to line the box. Then I’ll cut all the parts to size and assemble it. Oh yeah, and I need a couple of small butt hinges. _\_ So in theory by this time tomorrow, I may have a new, made-by-myself jewelry box. Except it won’t be waxed or oiled or whatever for a couple of days. I suppose I need to decide how to finish it pretty soon, huh? Yeah, I’ll post pics when it’s done. No, I won’t make you one. 😃 ---

Apologies in advance to **Puggy** and **Ellen** and anyone else who is trying to downsize. If you think dark chocolate Hershey’s Kisses are bad, try: Loacker Mini Chocolat - Dark. They’re very much like [these](http://www.loacker.it/en_cioccowafer.html), basically wafers with chocolate filling covered in dark chocolate. Just stopped into World Market to replenish my stock of Ritter Sport candy bars and stopped to get the chocolate filled wafers I usually buy. Saw a little bag of these and thought I’d try them. Pretty much heaven. Fortunately, they’re expensive ($4 for 12 individually wrapped squares, maybe 1 1/2" x 2" x 1/4"). I’ve eaten 3 of them and I’m not sure I can stop. :eek: Help.
