Whew! Finally home, but have been somewhat busy. My daughter still isn’t doing well. I changed her sheets, took her temp (running a low grade temp of about 100.2), made her some chicken noodle soup, and started a load of laundry. Before I left for work this morning, I told her to eat something. I told her there was chicken noodle soup in the pantry. At about 10:30 I called to check on her and to remind her to EAT. I called again at 1:00 for the same reasons. At about 2:45 my son called me to check on his chores and I asked him if his sister had eaten. Her reply was “No”. :smack: I told her she NEEDED to eat and that by starving herself she was only making herself more ill. I get home, find out she STILL hasn’t eaten and am now MAKING her get some nourishment. Now I feel all guilty for having gone into work while my daughter is sick. She’s not a little kid anymore and I thought she could handle things. Obviously, if she had been barfing I would have stayed home. She did have a temp this morning, but it was low grade. I think I’m going to go out and get some medication for her. I guess I better get dinner started for the rest of us now. We’re having leftovers from last night’s dinner; which was quite good. **Mr. Taters** thinks he’s a real chef now and quite proudly informed me and our friends that he plans to make something every Sunday. We shall see, we shall see… ---

OK…I remember now: 1. Great OP, **swampy**!!! and… 1. The chair in the living room is turned into a bed (futon chair + ottoman = bed would be more accurate) and everything is slightly out of place. I’ve bumped into the stoooooopit ottoman about 50 times since I came home from work. I’m probably bruised for life. So, when I start wondering aloud why my shin is bruised, please remind me of this episode. GT ---

**Why Trick or Treating is better than sex:** 10. You are guaranteed to get at least a little something in the sack. 1. If you get tired, you can wait 10 minutes and go at it again. 2. The uglier you look, the easier it is to get some. 3. You don’t have to compliment the person who gives you some. 4. It’s O.K. when the person you’re with fantasizes you’re someone else, because you are. 5. Forty years from now you’ll still enjoy candy. 6. If you don’t like what you get, you can always go next door. 7. It doesn’t matter if the kids hear you moaning and groaning. 8. Less guilt the morning after. 9. YOU CAN DO THE WHOLE NEIGHBORHOOD. ---

Yay **Kalley’s** back! Been wonderin’ where you got off to. Sorry for the sickness and chaos. Hope all’s better soon. Please remember to report in when ever you can. Thanks for all the compliments about starting things up this week. Now, we need a volunteer to step forward for next Monday. Who’s it gonna be? We need to be prepared in case **Rue** still can’t, bein’ as he’s the busy career man now. I wonder if any animals have puked or pooped on him yet. If you’re asleep, and you dream you have insomnia, what have you done? Last night, I dreamed that the groundskeeping crew where I live was trying to mow the grass at 0230, and I couldn’t get back to sleep, but IRL I was out cold. I’m still befuddled by the implications of this at 0835… ---

Anyway, the way we make swiss steak is to take some cheap cut of steak, cut it in to small-ish pieces, dredge them in flour/salt/pepper, pound the heck out of them, sear them in lots and lotsa oil, and then put them in the oven on low heat with some onions and stuff all day. They come out really really tender with a nice gravy-like substance on them. Kinda plain tasting, but still good. I think there are variants on the recipe, but the basic idea is to cook a less-good piece of meat really slowly to make it tender. Over the weekend I tried my hand at chicken biryani with a recipe I found online. It came out pretty well despite my lack of onions. I think I’m going to have to experiment with Indian food more often! ---

I guess I’m the only one who is an _actual_ Catholic at this point … but I thought it was evident what Our Lady of La Leche was, so I didn’t 'splain. You all know La Leche League? An informational support group for nursing mothers. Well, Our Lady of La Leche is the blessed Virgin nursing the baby Jesus! How cool is that. I hope this isn’t considered TMI, because _I_ don’t think it’s TMI, it’s just, ya know, _natural_ and all that, but I’m a dedicated nursing mama now into the second year of nursing my little one. The last little one nursed two and a half years. So, anyhoo, if you’re a nursing Catholic mama like me, the idea of Mary nursing a squirming little baby Jesus (who too might have occasionally nipped) is very appealing! Regarding my in-laws … I do love them very much and I _am_ looking forward to seeing them! They live a coupla states away, about a 5-hour drive. Not terribly far, but not close enough that you dash down there very often. So, I’m thrilled they’re coming for a visit! They didn’t get to come for Baby Cherry’s first birthday, so I’m looking forward to the motherlode of presents that’s sure to accompany them, too. 😃 **Kally** good to see you back! Hope things look up for you! **FCM** I meant to remark yesterday about your pottery class. _(snerk … I just accidentally typed “potty class” … snerk_. I am looking forward to taking a class someday soon because … I _DO_ have a kiln! Isn’t that the most unbelievable thing ever? What happened is, my husband had a girlfriend years ago that had a kiln, and she moved to California and it was too big to take it with her, so she left it with him! So me, the wife, now has the old girlfriend’s kiln, and I’m not ashamed to admit it. Hee hee. Anyway, beings that we have it, I’d like to learn to make stuff and fahr it in my very own kiln! **chaos boy** – I fear for your fingernails, be they gnawed or be they snipped. The goods are in my office as I speak, and I plan to mosey down to our mailroom here in a bit, where they have a vast assortment of boxes and packing materials! Is it too late to blow her back into the Atlantic? We’ve tied the record now, so any more storms start getting Greek alphabet names. This is not the kind of record breaking I like. Oh, and we’ve started packing up church stuff for the big move next month. Hopefully the contractor specs for the new building will be done in a couple of weeks and we can let bids. I still don’t understand what possessed me to want to get involved in all of this but involved up to my hiney in church building I am. ---
