Most posters who find a reason not to like us prefer to melt down, egg on the mods until they get banned, whine publicly about the horrific injustice on Fathom, Instant Message anyone on the board requesting in vain that they leave in protest, and return as a sock puppet when they find that the board is doing just fine without their whiny ass. It’s an old bit. But apparently it appeals to the Princess in a lot of people. And that’s what’s important, regardless of how many MBs they must piss all over to acheive an adequate amount of attention. It’s not good enough to leave. It’s more important for people to _notice_ that you’ve left. My advice to those who are hurt by being called “stupid”: Toughen up, loosen up or move along. Or you could always stop acting stupid. And for the love of God, Homer, lose the King James style of posting. If ever “get off the cross” applied, it’s with your OP. Be not a fucknut. ---

Tim, I like you, I really do. I keep an eye open for your posts. You’re a fun guy to drink with. Because I like you, I’m trying very hard to see things from your side of the fence, but it just isn’t working. Your heart was in the right place, that’s true. You were answering the question in the best way you knew how. I don’t think you can be faulted for your intent, but regardless of intent, you were still in the wrong. Granted, you weren’t wrong on a grand scale, but you were still wrong. And being “heart in the right place but still at fault” many times over the months and years is eventaully going to add up to the response you got from manny. I think what you should do here is apologize and go about your business. Keep a low profile in GQ and GD for a while if you feel that’s what necessary to get back in our fine mods’ good graces. Keep putting your two cents in, but put a little more thought into forum choice. Don’t let that “submit reply” reflex subvert your choice of forum. Like you said, we all have choices to make. Choose to think a few seconds longer when you’re in GQ. Choose to stay with us, even if it’s only because monkey butlers make us laugh. 🙂 ---

My angle was not that you were the perfect fit Spoofey. It’s more that your username should be Sir Vile or Sicko Pants or something. Please don’t ban Homer - he’s already under stress. The fact that he’s started posting like Cliff Robertson in Flowers for Algernon should be proof of that. I suspect he’s being held captive by a sinister fraternity of lizard people who have links to the global elite. They could be the Interdimensional Sasquatch, or the Goat Sucker division. I think he posts what he’s told to post. He has no free will and isn’t allowed to buy airmail stamps. Don’t ask me how I know. ---

That’s so kind Spoofey. It’s been brought to my attention, you know, that your attitude maybe motivated by your political aspirations. You are a politician in training. Well, you seem to be up to LAW 42 of the 48 LAWS OF POWER, I’ll give you that. Strike The Shepherd And The Sheep Will Scatter, and all that. You’ve got “Never Criticise Those Above You Directly” and “Arrange To Be Noticed” down too. But I think you’ve failed (in this thread anyway) at “Never Affect Friendliness Or Intimacy With Your Master” and, because of me, on “Be Frugal With Flattery” you only get a C+. Maybe with extra homework we might expect a small coup d’etat from you soon? I hate to see that big NY Cheesecake tread over everyone, especially Homer, because I believe Homer actually likes the guy (or used to). And Homer’s ex-communication would mean the loss of one more excellent contributor. ---

You’re not alone, Kabbes. I suddenly find myself understanding G.Nome, (who, I should admit, I have given a hard time in the past), and finding it hard to follow Homer (who I think is a good addition to these boards). Tim, really. This style of posting is not you. You know it is not your style. This is all too bizarre. I knew I shouldn’t have tried Syncronising Scoo\_guy posts with The Residents. ---
