# The Front Porch?

I am curious to what extent Dopers have a front porch, how open vs closed it is; and what is it used for?

Our front porch was enclosed years ago to make a sunroom. We use it mostly for air drying laundry in the sun, there’s 6 clothes lines up near the ceiling.

I have a small, unenclosed front porch, but it’s just used as an extra-wide step to get to the front door. And for UPS to put packages on.

I would have no reason to sit on it and watch the road; I can sit on the other side of the house, on the patio, and watch Lake Michigan. Much more inviting.
