I saw a kid with a front-tuck this morning. He looked like a highschool kid. I remember when I was in about the 8th grade and the front-tuck was way cool, but it went out in just two or three years. I would like to assume that this high school kid is just fashionably impaired and way behind, but is it possible that I’m getting old and am no longer on the proverbial fashion mailing list and the front-tuck has come back and I just don’t know about it? Am I to resign myself to poorly cut jeans and distasteful button-down shirts? Or am I making too much of a small thing? I don’t think I’m ready to cash out just yet! ---

My friends and I do the front tuck sometimes but it’s usually so that our belt buckles show. Stop laughing at us, laugh with us, it’s funny. Mine has the sillouette “girl on mud-flap” and his says “Fat Boy”. ---

The front tuck (on the right physique) is all the rage now. It’s highly ensorsed by mannequins in J. Crew and Banana Republic and by _Queer Eye for the Straight Guy_’s Fab Five. ---

See! This is what I’m saying…here I thought that the front-tuck was obsolete. And I shop at the Banana, and I watch Queer Eye. And I still had no idea. And what exactly is the right physique for front tucking? I’ve never felt so out of the fashion loop before. And yeah, Bruce, I do like the belt buckle thing. In fact, I just tucked in the front of my shirt and it does feel good. I doubt I’ll leave the house like this, tho. ---

Well, the front tuck doesn’t really work if you have a paunch. If you have a paunch and you must join your front-tucking brethern, wear a girdle (giggle). ---

It seems to have something to do with tucking in one’s shirt – perhaps in the front only, with the shirttail waving free? ---
