Another sign changing. Worked at a Wendy’s while in high school. Next door was a Taco Bell that frequently had the sign:

“Now hiring
All shifts”

After closing we would sneak over and rearrange the letters to read:

“Now firing
All shits”

They continued to put the same sign up, and we continued to change it, for months. Sometimes it would stay changed for days. Could never figure why they didn’t just change the phrasing, but they kept giving us the opportunity.

When I was at the University of Chicago 37 years ago, someone in the mathematics department had written on the wall of a men’s room stall:

"‘There is no solution to the equation a^n + b^n = c^n, where a, b, and c are integers and n is an integer greater than 2.’

I have discovered a marvelous proof of this theorem, but there is not enough room to write it on the wall of this stall."

(For you non-mathematicians, this is a parody of a famous comment written in the margin of a textbook by Fermat many, many years ago. Nobody was able to find Fermat’s proof. The theorem was finally proved a couple of years ago.)

This one was in a bathroom stall in the old admin building at Santa Monica Airport:

> If you look down, you’ll see the same thing a Stuka pilot would see while dive-bombing Kansas.

It did, too. (Because of the pattern of the tile.)
