The future of (American) football

Wow, you must really hate broadcast media: “I tell them to turn to channel three, and none of them can see Sullivan anymore! Some of them see a Western, others see a detective show, and some of them see loud white snow! Even if they’re in my town, I can’t tell them to turn to channel three to see Sullivan, because channel three isn’t consistent! Be consistent, stupid television!”

I’d mention Brecht and Baudrillard, but you’d just look at me with that winsome expression on your face, so I’ll be brief: Experiments in the form of storytelling are probably as old as storytelling itself, and expecting that all fiction be marked as such not only denies the role politics has in shaping nonfiction narrative, but completely ignores how much human memory itself is a renowned and fabled storyteller of ill repute.
