I’ll miss you Firefly. Especially the mechanic chick. Rowwwr.
I will defend Fox on one item from the OP though. They haven’t moved Futurama around much in the last year or two. It’s always scheduled at 7 PM on Sunday. It’s just that they don’t actually **show it** most weeks because of football overruns.

I get the impression that the people who select and produce shows for Fox are different from the people who schedule and promote them, and that the two groups don’t like each other.

If you guys want to help save it, go over to [www.fireflysupport.com](http://www.fireflysupport.com). Whedon and Minnear have been given permission by FOX to shop the show to other networks, and they are actively soliciting UPN as we speak. They have a PDF of a postcard you can download to send to the network execs to help convince them to pick up the show.
And if you want to see the episodes you missed, you can download all of them on Kazaa, in very good quality.

Can shows send in emmy applications independent of the network’s approval?
I’d love to see is Firefly win an Emmy. Joss’s acceptance speech would consist of him dropping his drawers, mooning FOX on national television, and then calmly saying “so, which network would like to host our emmy award winning show? We’ll talk after the ceremony.”

Stargate SG-1 was a show made for Showtime, where it originally aired in uninterupted 45 minute blocks.
Then they sold it to SciFi who ran the re-runs and produced new shows.

Heh. Bitches.
That is the notorious Kitten Board. They existed because they were fans of Willow and Tara as a couple, which is fine. They were very upset when Tara was killed last year by Warren, understandably.
What wasn’t cool was how they lashed out at Joss and all his works, accusing the man who’d cheerfully made one of his main characters gay and created a beautiful, healthy, loving woman who he sacrificed as as example of the evil that happens to good people as being the worst kind of homophobe. The hatred is simply amazing and it’s gone on for months. They’re mostly indeed adolescents and most of them–some have started to watch the show again–won’t let what they call Joss’ use of the “lesbian death cliche” go.
They hated FIREFLY and wished it ill from May 2002, as soon as poor Tara died. It’s sort of obssessive. Lots of people from other boards have tried to reason with them to no avail.
Last night’s was fantastic, wasn’t it? Off to Cafe Society.

It was the subpar lead in for John Doe that Fox was toying around with for a few weeks. Imagine Rawhide in Space as performed by the cast of Melrose Place and you’ve got a pretty good picture of the show.
It was created by Joss Wheedon, the craptacular “mind” behind Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Angel and Alien IV. Many, many people on the internet revere him for no readily apparent reason.

Oh please! Firefly is a bazillion times better than that hack crap John Doe. Interesting characters, who aren’t pathetic buffoons, who don’t squint all the time, and they do things other than solve the “crime of the week”
I can’t believe that trash will still be on the air when the good show gets cancelled.
