Morning all. Is it too late to join the pool? I pick Friday January 11 at 15:54 EST. HRH was born on a Friday at 15:54 (admittedly in Australia, which is GMT+10, but that’s irrelevant I suppose!). It’s still damn COLD here. **FCM** , come over here and take your cold weather back!!! ---

**TNC** pool: 12th @ 01:03 **li-li** time. **rigs** I have a girlfriend with hair like yours, and after several years I convinced her to grow it out, and it is just gorgeous. Washi it, use a leave in product (I like Biosilk), comb through it while wet with a hair pick and then leave it. It will dry in beautiful curls and women will die of jealousy and men will swoon. hehehe **pie** it looks like you got into the Manic Panic hair dye. When #1 daughter was still a teen (16, actually) I was griping about my hair, and she wanted to dye it with Manic Panic. In a spirit of bonding with my kid I said okay for a few sections. By the time she was done I had streaks of hot pink, blood red, acid yellow, acid green, blue and purple. It glowed. She made me promise to leave it for at least a week, which I did, but I stayed home! When the week was up I went to the store late at night to get some normal color to dye over it, figuring the store would be fairly empty. Which it was, until I got to the hair products aisle, where there was a mom, dad, and young teen girl trying to talk her parents into letting her dye her hair. I had hopes of grabbing my dye and leaving quietly, but as I approached the dad looked up at me, guffawed, and told his daughter “Why don’t you just do it like that!” I told him, in my defense, that I did it to bond with my yeen, and both parents and I had a good laugh. Under the flourecent lighting in the store I can only imagine how vivid the colors must have been! I’m glad that your finger is better **db** , I really do feel for you, as I am always doing something owie to my hands. It’s cold again, the temp at the moment is 17 F, but my desktop weather says it feels like 4 F. I believe it, too. Skiffman lit the banya and I braved the cold and ice to get there. (It’s on the backside of the lot) and we tore our clothes off and raced inside, as the dressing room is unheated and the water on the floor from the previous washers had frozen on the floor. We threw a lot of water on the rocks and the temp got to just over 190 F…aaaahhhhh! After about an hour we washed, splashed the rocks some more and opened the door to the dressing room to heat it up a bit, still the initial drying and getting dressed was chilly. The walk back to the house was okay, and I am all sleepy now. The only reason I am still up is because The Son needed help with some homework, and he was having teenage attitude, so we butter heads until he finally gave in and put forth the effort. So I am sleepy but coming down from high irritation. I am gonna go to bed now and watch a couple of tv shows I record everyday to watch at night. I am not being very coherent at the moment I fear! All the appropriate hugs, aww’s, congratulations, consolations as appropriate. ---

You’re right, **kai**. The blue is made by Manic Panic the other two are different brands. Manic Panic is more expensive, but the color is definitely stronger and lasts longer too. And surprisingly, it always manages to continue to turn the shampoo suds blue for several weeks after I use it. The other ones never do that. It makes me wonder what would happen if I were in a swimming pool if I’d have a wisp of blue water swirling around me. ---

Hi there, mumpers! I’m up since 4:30 and sitting at my desk, waiting for my program to start up. It takes about 10 minutes, so what better thing to do than peruse the MMP? **Swampy** , I’m so happy that you like your new job! It sure helps to be a happy camper. **Pie** - you’re brave to color your hair like that! I think it looks cool! I’m too chicken to even get highlights, but I’m getting closer, now that I have more gray. ☹ I meant to tell y’all about my lunch yesterday. My friend and I went for sushi at this place we really like. We had the worst service _EVAH_! I’m not usually very picky, but this waitress was the worst. She took forever to come take our order. When we finally received it, we were missing one of the rolls I ordered. (I told the “runner” we were missing one.) _She never came back to check on us!_ We had to ask for drink refills, by almost hollering at her to get her attention. She never even made eye contact or anything. When we were done, she came by and asked if everything was good. I told her no, and that we were missing a roll, and to please make sure it wasn’t on the bill. She says ok, then goes away, then comes back and says she’s sorry, that she didn’t write it down, that’s why we didn’t get it. Duh! So then she takes forever with the check - damn, I’m ranting aren’t I? 🙂 So, and I _never_ do this, I only tipped her a buck. My friend left her nothing. Maybe she was new or something, but jeez! And the food quality wasn’t up to par either. Today should be better, huh? 😉 And tomorrow’s Firday! ---

The money for subbing is just really good compared to other non-full time jobs in the area; I usually make a little under a hundred dollars for an eight-hour day. And I do like it, **Noone** , though I feel badly for the kids because they have to put up with me going, “The schedule the office gave me is so wrong! Where are you supposed to be?” They are very patient with me. Amusing story yesterday: The little boy I work with in the mornings occasionally needs to go on a walk in the halls to calm down, so we were on a tour of the hallways, when we pass my mom (who is a lunch lady) and one of her co-workers leaving the break room after eating lunch. We stop to say hello, because he likes the cooks and they like him. Mom is holding a cookie and a can of pop in one hand, and as she’s saying, “Hello, LB. How are you today?”, he shouts, “Cookie!” and grabs it from her hand. He takes a huge bite out of it and is feeling very smug about his handiwork – he has this smile that clearly says that he’s pulled on over on us. The first thing that comes out of my mouth in a horrified tone is, “LB! That’s my mom’s cookie!” Mom, loving mother that she is, breaks down laughing at me. Her co-worker ends up running down the hallway so I can’t see her laughing fit to die. I took the cookie away from him, and all the way back to the classroom, he kept saying, “You took my cookie. My cookie!” Yeah, right, kid. That cookie was stolen property. Compared to the other aide that got threated with a wooden spoon yesterday, my day was easy-peasy. I went to bed about ten minutes after I made my last post, and woke up at 4 AM. Christ! I saw the alarm clock, rolled over, and drowsed until around six, when I heard my parents getting ready for work, so I got out of bed, had a cup of coffee with my mom, and watched the cat do his usual morning acrobatics. Now I am eating breakfast, which frozen pizza. I maintain this is not an odd choice, because I slept through dinner last night.
