Yeah but if the rock had had de fence it wouldn’t have been assaulted. But then who wants to go to parks where all the views are fenced off.

I think they do fence off some places just like that.
There is a somewhat cave-like rock formation in the middle of the Carizzo Plain (alternatively spelled Carissa) (San Luis Obispo County, Ca.), with petroglyphs. I think it’s fenced off now to keep the vandals away, who only want contribute more petroglyphs of their own. You can only get out there with a guided tour anymore.
