Its pretty obvious by now. You can tell that Bush is loosing it and Kerry is confident. It ought to be interesting, the outcome. I feel like a kid at Christmas… By the way… I’ll go ahead and call it. Kerry by 5% in the Popular vote and a 300+ victory in the EC. Anyways **Bricker** , you wanna bet a bottle of wine with me? If Kerry looses I’ll buy you a bottle of anything in reason. Online probably. If I lose though you Bush fans won’t get to gloat because I’m not coming back! ---

**Equipoise** , you should let people know that’s Michael Moore’s group. You’ll be videotaped and get a referral to a lawyer. Don’t see how they could help you that day. I too would be very very interested in exactly what those Repubs were saying to people in line. It does matter a great deal exactly what they said and where they were–less than 100 feet from the door, for example. Anybody bothered by them can tell the commissioner inside, or the policeman guarding the place, who will tell electioneers to move on. I also think it’s :dubious: to think that a black voter will shake with fear and slink away when somebody asks them a question. Most of the folks I know would answer, “Well, we’ll see about that when I get inside. Bye bye now.” and go back to reading the Daily News. ---

If my daughters’ school mock election is any indication, it’s Bush by a landslide (247 to 35). 🙂 I’m getting the feeling that Bush will ultimately prevail. If I had to guess, I’d say he’ll end up with 62% of the electoral votes and slightly more than half of the popular vote. ---

My school just completed a mock election in which Kerry received 87% of over 1,000 votes cast. I guess Chicago students and suburban Cincinnati students don’t quite see eye to eye. 😃 ---

I’m not pulling anything out of anywhere. Moore was on Anderson Cooper tonight, named the organization, and referred people who were barred or saw other shenanigans to that exact number, saying that he would send over a video camera with the lawyer and edit the results later. However, he does not seem to have created it, just helping it out. Sorry. But Cooper did kid him about using it for grandstanding, which Moore swore up and down he wouldn’t do. Couldn’t happen in NYC anyway–we’ve had provisional ballots for ages. We also have brochures we can give to all pollwatchers saying what they can and can’t do. ---

Yes, Michael Moore is referring people to that number, along with hundreds of news organizations (_e.g._, the New York Times, Houston Chronicle, Seattle Times, Minneapolis Star Tribune, Los Angeles Times, Miami Herald), and untold numbers of individuals. There is no connection whatsoever between this organization and Michael Moore’s plans to film on voting day. ---

You had old tires _and_ mud? We just had mud. In fact, what we really had was dirt. We had to walk–uphill, both ways–ten miles to the nearest well, where we would carry buckets of water to the dust. Then we’d mix the dirt with water to make mud. We had to stir that dirt all day, in the hot sun, in the rain–_and we liked it!_ When I was your age, we made our own fun! ---

You had buckets? Lucky buggers! We had do drink five gallons of water each and then tie a knot in our peckers so it wouldn’t leak out before we got back to the dirt quarry. Except for my sister Alice, of course, and she had to…well, maybe best not go into that… ---
