**picunurse** : if you went through San Antonio on the way to Corpus Christi the you went within a mile of where we live now! We are about 27 miles south of San Antonio about a mile west of HWY 37. ---

I’ve been bad, I have 11 post cards from list number 2 left to mail. I swear I’ll hit the post office and get those out tomorrow. I still need to print the short list and get those out too. If i can crank out the last 11 here (already addressed, just need to write note and buy postage), maybe I can get out the short list tomorrow also. I’ve received 12 post cards already, and sadly, today is my first day of getting the mail and no cards. But the good news is, I found 2 more different post cards today and they must be 15 yrs old, just sitting in the store trying to be sold. I got 5 of each. And mostly I’m excited because I found a post card of the Pithlachascotee River that I live on. This river isn’t really all that long and I just can’t believe there’s a card. I might go back and buy 30 more. I also found a weird card and I think it was **dbygawdcapn** that wanted weird ones. Kinda dumb, but definitely weird. And, belive it or not, I still can’t find a card saying “Florida state bird” with picture of mosquito. **lainaf** , did you get a card like that from Florida yet? I’m still having fun with this and after I finish what names I have, I’ll be requesting list number 3 from **Misstee** Oh, and my husband is also really enjoying the cards too. Thanks for the cards everyone, this weekend I’ll post who I received cards from. ---

I will be sending out and few more postcards Monday. My apologies to everyone on list #1. I didn’t fill my cards out until last night, and they should go out in the mail today. I have a nice pile waiting for me to peruse, which I will also do today. I spent 2 hours figuring out how to do a document merge in MSWord and setting up the text blocks to fit the cards I bought, only to find out that the would not feed through my printer. Hope y’all can read chicken scratches… 😉 ---

As previously stated, I’ve been remiss on this adventure. I sent a stack of 15 out this morning. I’m now going through the pile that’s accumulated over the last 2 weeks. **Ashkicker** - I love the Smokies! Too bad NASA doesn’t have a facility in Asheville… **Hugh Jass** - My dad lived in Sherman (TX) for a few years. **Archergal** - Beans at Stone Mountain, GA. That rumbling probably isn’t thunder… **Libwen** - the Michigan capitol in Lansing **Low Key** - Thanks for the Swedish card, just like I ordered. **Sternvogel** - living in Indiana, not too far from where I did, sent a card of a hotel in the Netherlands **Quiltguy** - nice quilt card. Maybe I should get you talking to the mrs., because she’s a quilt fan, too. **Lainaf** - I’ve always been a fan of the south, including Mississippi. Except they’ll probably kick me out for being a Pepesi drinker… **Lok** - I’ve actually been to Van Wert! I went to college at Tri-State in Angola IN, and roamed widely looking for girls and cheap beer… **Ravenous Lady** - I thought manatees were aquatic speedbumps… **Bambi Hassenpfeffer** - I’ve only been in Florida as far south as Melbourne, which is the wrong coast for you. Hopefully that will change. I also noticed that every one of you misspelled my last name, which is Hostetler. That means I must have goofed when I sent my name in to Misstee. ---

I got cards yesterday from **GorillaMan** : Such pretty scenery in Suffolk! I’m jealous! **Archergal** : _Now_ I see why all these people are talking about beans!! That’s an awesome idea - do you bring beans with you everywhere for photo ops? And I’m starting to wonder why mine aren’t getting to anybody yet. Canada Post is notoriously slow, but I sent them out last week… ---

I’ve got a big ol’ pile to report: **Tanookie** : Big grey stone Norman-ish looking edifice, that can be rented for functions. **screech owl** : A roller coaster in Florida that looks for all the world like a giant green rubber band. **Archergal** :Old style red brick schoolhouse, that just kinda’ grew. **Hugh Jass** :Aerial view of Austin, TX **LowKey** :Six views of Sweden[love the lobsters!] **sternvogel** :Art Deco-cum-Svengali[the movie] in color. **lok** :First county library in the U.S.[being from Philadelphia, and what with Ben Franklin and all, maybe, maybe not] **Bambi Hassenpfeffer** :St. Petersburg, the one with palm trees. **RavenousLady** :Windswept, palm-lined Florida beach. **Ashkicker** :A dozen views of the Great Smoky Mountains. **lainaf** : Another roller coaster, this one obviously from a RC afficianado. **libwen** :And the winner, thus far, is a patchwork quilt map from the great state of Michigan[I’ve suggested, to my guild members, that we do something similar for New Jersey] Thanks to one and all. I haven’t mailed mine yet, but I did get them all purchased! Some of mine are coming with no house number. I’m getting them anyway–which is somewhat miraculous. I live on a street with only about 40 homes but our carrier routinely gives people the wrong mail and I’m regularly running stuff down to the correct house. I hope if any of my neighbirs don’t recognize my name, they’ll use the neighborhood directory to find me. ---

Oh, I see the problem now. My house number is printed as part of DazzlingWhite Diamond’s address. That’s the typo MissTee mentioned earlier. Well if you’re still aiming to send me one, peel the “3636” off of DWD and use it as my house number. ---

Just put my second batch (15 cards) in the mail. In addition to **libwen** and **dbygawdcapn** , I’ve now heard from **Lok** , **Low Key** , **Ravenous Lady** , **quiltguy154** , **lainaf** , **Ashkicker** , **Archergal** , **screech-owl** , **Hugh Jass** , and **Bambi Hassenpfeffer**. So I’ve sent 30 and received 12, with at least eight more scheduled to arrive. it’s interesting to see what everybody picks to mail to me (and, from reading this thread, whether a particular poster opts to send multiples of the same view, several related scenes, or a random selection). **misstee** : Glad _you’re_ glad I’m sticking around! 😉 Hope this idea will become an SDMB tradition. ---

I really like it, and I don’t intend on messing with Texas in the foreseeable future. **Low Key** , who really made my day with his postcard from Goteborg. I had just taken an exam over Northern, Southern, and Eastern Europe that day, and I come home and there’s this postcard about Goteborg, one of the largest manufacturing centers in Sweden. Blew my mind! **screech-owl** , of Jaws. This one scared me when I saw it, because I thought it was a real shark at first. Then I realized it would look a little more traumatized if it were real.
