Haters: Justin Bieber’s Christmas album is so great that I’m willing to buy it for you (much of the proceeds go to charity.) This is the first album in my 40-year history of being alive where I have liked every single song. I even like the country song, and I moderately dislike county songs; I like the Mariah Carey song, despite hating Mariah Carey with the fire of a thousand suns; I like the song “Pray” even though I’m not a Jesus Freak like he is (agnostic). Even the bizarre, baffling, rap version of Little Drummer Boy has strangely grown on me. PM me your address if you want a physical CD copy (includes a Willy-Wonkaish Platinum Ticket chance to meet Justin on NYE in Times Square, and if you win you HAVE TO TAKE ME). If you want an iTunes copy…I’ll be glad to provide that too…if someone tells me how to do that, lol. Hurry while I still have a job: they’ve been talking about shutting down the hospital where I work for months now. ---

Can’t say I’m a “hater.” Supremely indifferent is more accurate. I don’t think I have ever said a bad word about the kid, nor have I heard any of his music. (I don’t believe I have heard or noticed any of Lady Gaga’s work either - nothing against either of them but I don’t listen to much radio or follow music videos.) I’ve seen too many flash-in-the-pan pop sensations to bother following any of them nowadays. ---

Yeah actually I was sorta the same way: only went to see his movie as kind of a joke but ended up being blown away. Dis bro works harder than any 5 people I know put together Same here with Lady Gaga. What little I know of her is from a “Weird Al” polka montage. ---

When I visited my brother last year, I asked my niece, who is twelve years old, if she was a fan of the Bieber. I figured she might be, as she’s right in his demographic. But she denied being a fan, saying, “I’m not a boy!” I’m not sure what to make of that; perhaps in her school only the boys like him? Or is the stereotype that he only appeals to gay boys? I have no idea. ---

Coincidentally we had a “take your kid to work day” yesterday, and as a treat on my way home with my 14 year old daughter I bought her this CD. I’m open to what she listens to and always let her play her music in the car. This album isn’t bad, in the way I find some of her other rap choices bad, for example; it’s wholesome, as opposed to wretched. I must say, the Bieb has pretty good pipes, as do his guests. But it ain’t my style of music. It really is an album for teenyboppers. ---

In my collection, I could think of dozens of albums off the top of my head where I like every single song. In fact, just from the 6 or 7 albums I bought in the last month or so, I can’t think of a track I didn’t like and listened to them each all the way though several times without the urge to skip any particular tracks. Now, pop albums tend to get turned out a lot faster than most other genres are so are more likely to have filler and, thus, be more likely to have bad songs on them. However, I’d also think that any halfway decent artist ought to be able to turn out at least one album without any duds on it. It still seems weird that you’d offer to buy albums of an already well established artist. I’ve seen this sort of thing before with relative unknowns; hell, I’d likely do so for a number of my favorites if I believe the person would appreciate it or it would help them get meaningful exposure. ---
