I’ve also heard “poopy suit” used to describe G-suits, and there it is more that the lumpy suit looks like you’ve already taken a dump in itt as soon as you put it on. (Per many fighter pilot memoirs)

I’ve never heard G-suits called ‘poopy suits’. The only nicknames I’ve heard for them are ‘speed jeans’ or occasionally ‘chaps’ (since they’re actually chaps). I have (rarely) heard flightsuits (‘flying coveralls’) called ‘poopy suits’, but the more common nickname is ‘pickle suits’.

As @Johnny_L.A just said …

IME nobody in USAF or USN confused a “poopy suit” = water survival suit with the “G-suit”. Ditto flight suits (fireproof coveralls) are not, and never have been, “poopy suits”.

IMO anyone calling either a G-suit or a flight suit a “poopy suit” is a wannabe novelist who learned his technical vocabulary from other wannabe novelists.

The other common nickname for flight suits was / is “goatskins”. For the distinctive funk that Nomex develops after being worn in lots of sweaty cockpits for a couple years. Despite regular washing, eventually the synthetic fiber gets enough stale sweat embedded in it that the stink becomes permanent.

Let me amend this. I think I have heard regular flightsuits called ‘poopy suits’ a couple of times; but I think I remember the '60s-vintage insulated, cold-weather flightsuits worn over the regular ones being called that. I do remember from the one I had that they seemed a bit baggy.

The books I read it in were 1950’s to 1960’s era, and written b the actual pilots. May have to go back to my shelves and try to find a cite.

Apparently that particular community has been hostile to float planes for some time now. The woman operating the boat owns a restaurant there and has been especially vocal about her dislike for the aircraft noise. Apparently she’s already been visited by both the Coast Guard _and_ the FAA.

About time for Sheriff Bob to explain the facts of life to her. After the USCG impounds her boats.

‘Deep State! Witch Hunt! I have a business! I don’t fly around all day in my Rich Boys toys!’

But yeah; Considering how close her boat appeared to be to the aircraft (based on the time between the boat’s passing and the floats hitting the wake), I’d call that maneuver criminal assault.

Someone on Reddit I think mentioned that you can at one point hear the prop take a big bite of the boat’s wake. There’s some good questions about whether or not that counts as a prop strike and thus requires inspection and or rebuild.

The woman piloting the boat has a long history of harassing people using “her” cove. The new twist is that a lodge also situated on Halibut Cove is now owned by a group that also owns two seaplanes and uses them to provide tours to their guests.

A common problem with far rural / wilderness folks seems to be not understanding that “their” land/water isn’t everywhere, it’s just the part they actually own or lease.

It’s an easy mistake to make when you own e.g. 3 acres and the nearest neighbor is 10 miles away and all the rest is either public land or owned by gosh-knows-who who never comes there.

But once you have real neighbors close by, that mistake needs to stop. Sadly, the kind of people who choose to live e.g. 10 miles from others often cannot adapt to living much closer. Sucks to be them, since even one close neighbor brings all of “civilization”'s problems and problem-solving tools with them. Like USCG, sheriffs, etc.

Although that’s arguably a better solution than the frontier alternative of her simply disappearing one day after one too many harrassments of her better-armed new neighbors.
