I remember flying the 146 in and out of (I think) Washington National a few times when I was working for the US Army. I always thought it was an under-rated plane. Now my favorite short-haul is the EMB 190.

I’m pretty sure I mentioned this before, but my dad worked for a regional airline that bought some BAe 146s. Every few weeks he’d go to England, pick up a brand new plane, and fly it back to the U.S.

One day I flew up to WJF to get a $100 Pepsi (and I don’t even _prefer_ Pepsi!). A server at Foxy’s Landing (the airport diner) snapped a photo of me. That was in the late-'90s, or maybe 2000 or 2001. Anyway, I thought I’d look to see where that helicopter is now. And I found it.

At least four airplanes I’ve flown were later destroyed in accidents, two of which involved friends of mine. The most recent was a jet I’d flown two weeks before, but luckily the crew (also friends) survived.
It always reminds me that we play this game for keeps.

Two of the R22s I’d flown were destroyed in crashes. Another one may or may not have been; I’ve heard conflicting stories. Now I’ve read the Schweizer was lost. Three or four crashes, no injuries aside from abrasions and bruises.

Had a similar experience looking up the plane I soloed in. Was later involved in a VFR into IMC incident, but unusually both on board survived. Pilot had to walk back to the airport through a frozen swamp with two broken ankles tho.
