Johnson is a fundamentalist shithead and probably a closet case, but he seems to place at least some importance in keeping his word and putting country before party. That means Democrats can work with him, which is a lot more than can be said of most QOP Speakers of the last 30 years. ---

“A congresswoman we will not name was threatening to do this. After meetings with the Speaker where one would have supposed she would have asked for concessions, instead she just pulled the trigger. This just pissed us all off so we crushed her motion. But that was what she wanted because she doesn’t want concessions she just wants to look like the lone underdog fighting the swamp. Oh please.” But the way he says it is so much better. ---
