The Great Webcomic Crash of 2015

Pretty sure there’s an XKCD comic relevant to this very topic.

Don’t blame other people when they read your posts and assume they reflect what you think.

When you post “Why oh why Lord couldn’t it have been xkcd.” people are going to think you want xkcd to be cancelled.

And when you post “Clint Eastwood masturbating the flag and making a mass killer into Captain America. Captain America would puke. And the guy himself, mass killing and writing a book about it and pretending he’s not stealth bragging about being a mass killer. He’s so self-important he feels just fine telling God what God should think. I imagine if God had a problem with the killing, he’d pop God’s ass. Wonder how that worked out?” people are going to think you hate that movie. And book. And people.

But then you tell us that wasn’t your intent in either case. So maybe you should rethink the things you post and make sure you actually mean them.

FWIW, reading the quote that appears in the “Eerie Cuties” main page, it says: (emphasis mine):
<…> both EC & MC will be coming to an end this year. Not like “over for good” but “over for now/end of this chapter” <…>

What comes next for the EC verse? We’ll let you know more once we get closer to the end. To be honest, we’re not sure ourselves right now!.
This sounds to me, not so much as “the webcomic will end” than “the webcomic will be reaching a conclusion to the overarching story, and from here on it will possibly go in new directions.”

But that is just my opinion, man :slight_smile:

The interpretation I’m getting is they’re essentially saying “We’re not officially calling this strip finished but we won’t be publishing any new strips.”

Never said I hate people making art I don’t like. But hey, you and Miller want to play Heather games, knock yourself out.

I don’t know what a Heather game is. Is that when you catch somebody denying they said something and then you cite the quote where they said it?

An update: In the case of Multiplex, ending the series has been a slow process. McAlpin has just announced the final strip will be posted next month.

Sluggy’s also finally in the windup stage.

Howard Tayler has been talking about what he will do after Schlock Mercenary, too, though I think that’s a little farther down the road.

For the record, Magick Chicks and Eerie Cuties both recently ran short stories (written by Dave, and drawn by an Archie staffer - Dan Parent and Fernando Ruiz, respectively). Another EC story is apparently upcoming, though I don’t know of the date, if they’ve even decided on it.

[=2&status[1]=3"]MC - Two Melissas (10 pages)](Pixie Trix Comix - Magick Chicks -0).
[=2&status[1]=3"]EC - I Was a Teen-Aged Were-Girl (6 pages)
. (This has some…eh…issues. Some of which carry over from the storyline it’s a sequel to.)
