Except for the pricing, Lego is damn cool. Non-violent too… well at least it was 20 years ago. Except for those spring dart guns with the Easily Removable Suction Cups, I can’t think of a stupid toy. ---

Why do I get the feeling that the Kaba kick is just a toy that doesn’t quite work. You know, they made it to fire everytime like a real gun but it just doens’t work everytime. So instead of fixing it, they called it the RR gun. I had one of those Bozo-Boppers as well as a talking Bozo doll. ---

By the way, those little flying hippos in the angel-and-devil costumes are holding up signs that say “Safe!” and “Out!” Apparently Russian Roulette uses the same terminology as baseball. Who knew? I seem to recall seeing a similar toy years ago, also from Japan. It had a grip like a pistol, but no barrel, and the hammer had a little pin on it. You’d inflate a balloon, strap it onto the thing, and hold it up to your temple. When you pulled the trigger, if you were, uh, “out,” the pin would pop the balloon right next to your ear. ---
