# The greatest LIVING American hero.

So, I found out that earlier today that one of my wifes friends asked her if their 16 year old daughter could use come over and use our computer to type up a report for school. Why my wife is friends with this slunt I have yet to figure out, but she let her daughter use our computer.
Tonight I got home and checked my “keyboard monitor” device. I use it to keep track of my own kids computer use. What I saw was a report from this girl. I almost had a stroke because I thought it was a report written by my 17 year old son.
Anyway, I read the report. (scream all you want. It’s my fuckin’ computer!)
The topic of the report was "who is the greatest American HERO still living toaday. I emphasize the word “HERO”.
Guess who this little dunce thinks is the GREATEST American HERO still living. Come on, take a guess. Really…take a guess!
Once again, the word was “HERO”, not “IDOL” or “CELEBRITY”.
HERO!
And it’s not like this kid is only 12. She almost 17!
I will tell you this: she goes to public school ,if that helps.

Britney Spears sounds about right, except I’m guessing a sixteen-year-old might be slightly more likely to name Jennifer Lopez. My insight into that demographic is far from keen, though.

My mother went her entire life pointing out the she was born on the same day in the same year as Doris Day. She refuses to admit that another film star was born on exactly the same day.
Maybe other people do that in reverse. Doris Day fandom probably isn’t universal.
(Bonus for the first post identifying the other film star).
