# The Green Visor Mystery....

Why do gamblers ( and accountants ) wear green visors while they’re working?

I have no idea what the gamblers’ rationale is. In the case of accountants – and editors – the green eyeshade was traditionally worn to ease the eyestrain of poring over tiny black type on white paper under harsh gaslight.
