Given the numbers of people voting for Trump, I’m not really sure the average civilian stockpiling weapons is a particularly great thing to support. If there were to be some armed populace rising up, I’m not sure I’d count on which side they’d be on. ---

The biggest threat to liberty and democracy is crime … and crime at the highest levels of government … we need to start electing better congressmen … The Donald can’t appropriate the money for a military takeover, only Congress can … if the soldiers aren’t getting paid, maybe they won’t fight … I kinda laugh at the comparisons to FDR … things were _really_ bad in 1933 … radical change could only make things better … today not so much … ---

It is not uncommon for someone to have applied for status as a conscientious objector and then enter the military and train as a medic. As I recall, by some fluke Hawkeye was supposed to be Officer of the Day, which required that he carry a side arm. Hotlips: I don’t know what a man like him is doing in the US Army! Radar: He was drafted. ---

You are conflating the TV Hawkeye with the movie Hawkeye. The movie version was much more nuanced. ---
