> .22 is fine round to get started with. 9mm guns don’t have to b expensive. There are plenty of reliable guns under $300 and some as low as $150. Your options expand if you are willing t buy used.

I find guns very boring to play with by myself.

And my friends will all make fun of me if I come half stepping with some weak ass peice. :o

But yeah, I have no concern about defense. I have a dog.

Main reason (only reason, really) I am around guns is a social thing.

Sure, I suppose if I got enjoyment out of plinking some cans out in the backwoods (which I am not sure how far I’d have to drive to not get into trouble for discharging a firearm) I could do it on the cheap. Of course, if that was all I was interested in, then [nerf is cheaper.](https://www.walmart.com/ip/NERF-N-Strike-Recon-CS-6/15042428?wmlspartner=wlpa&selectedSellerId=0&adid=22222222227010337139&wl0=&wl1=g&wl2=c&wl3=82010280649&wl4=aud-273067695102:pla-69061049809&wl5=9015635&wl6=&wl7=&wl8=&wl9=pla&wl10=8175035&wl11=online&wl12=15042428&wl13=&veh=sem)

If you’re only going to have one, I would pick dogs over guns. A gun isn’t going to wake you up and attack when an intruder breaks into your house.

BB guns might be better for that. You can shoot them practically anywhere if there aren’t people around.
