The band Darlingside with singer Heather Maloney with [a wonderful cover of Joni Mitchell’s _Woodstock_](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lyotn-3qycM). A friend played this for me yesterday, and I got chills. ---

You could probably do a thread just of “Stairway to Heaven” covers, but my favorite is [the Beatnix’ version](http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3WfoccRna6I&feature=kp), which is done in the style of the 1964 Beatles. ---

Somewhere out there is Pearl Jam’s (or it might just be Eddie Vedder’s) cover of Squeeze Box. Not on YouTube, but can be found on Grooveshark. Some other favorites of mine: [My Love is Alive](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r12k3uTtpEU) by Joan Osbourne [I’m Into Something Good](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VH5z8zxtN4M) by The Bird and the Bee [Maybe I’m Amazed](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lMXXAkJUv4s) by Jem [Immigrant Song](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fkP3urtYCkc) by Trent Reznor & Karen O (Plays over the opening titles to the American version of Girl with the Dragon Tattoo) [Low Spark of High Heeled Boys](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oBMLdXWoND0) by Rikki Lee Jones (I’m not crazy about this version; she has a cleaner studio version out there somewhere). [Ooh Child](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zyTOD7IlyYg) by Beth Orton [Our Lips are Sealed](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I8I_uIv45HY) by Jane Wiedlin – she was a member the Go Go’s, but it’s a distinctly different song; you can actually understand the lyrics with this version. ---

One of my favorite covers is a power-pop version of Joni Mitchell’s “Both Sides Now” by [Jason Faulker](http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=imhqzD0vf4s). Much less dreary than what Judy Colllins did with it. [Previous page](https://boards.straightdope.com/t/the-ha-what-the-wow-nice-cover-of-that-song-thread/681070.md?page=6)
