How many trick-or-treaters did you have at your house this year? I had 52–not bad considering it was windy with sporadic rain showers. ---

Curtains drawn and no outside lights - 0. The one time I did get candy, we had very few kids show up, and back then we didn’t have a barking idiot of a dog or a cat who looked for every chance to escape. Our development is mostly 3-acre lots with houses set back at least 100’ from the road - hardly anyone bothers anyway, so I don’t either. ---

We made a bit of a haunted house/dungeon thing under our house this year, so we were deliberately attracting attention. We didn’t keep a close count but well over 50 and Mrs P guesses up near 100. ---

1. And for once it wasn’t raining. I just got out of the hospital/nursing home Thursday, so I didn’t decorate, and it was exhausting cleaning up the front foyer where I’ve been hiding things from grandsons for months, but seeing even 14 little cuties was worth the effort. And now my front door is safe and accessible again. ---

This is my first Halloween in the new house, and I had none. Down from 100+ the last 25 years. My neighbor told me to expect from 0-20, and she was right. ---

250 plus ran out of candy about 7:45 pm my neighbor said they had over 300 plus they ran out at 8:30. ---

Our booby traps didn’t catch any trick-or-treaters again this year. I think the word is getting around. ☹ Actually, the combination of houses being far apart and lack of sidewalks means the pickings are pretty slim for the juvie beggar class. Much easier to have Mom truck the offspring around the newer housing developments with lots of cul-de-sacs. ---

Zero Some years the kids that live in my apartment building get organized to come around, sometimes they don’t. (It’s a building with a security guard, so we don’t get anyone from outside.) Last year they did, this year they didn’t. At least I didn’t go out and buy candy like I did three years ago and get skunked, and have to bring it in to work. (The parents post a notice when they are going to come around, so I knew not to get anything when I didn’t see one this year. Three years ago there was no notice but I thought they might come around anyway.) ---

Zero. I’ve never had a single trick-or-treater in the ten years I’ve lived here. Of course, “here” is an apartment complex with outside porch lights that run on sensors so you can’t turn them on and off. The kids in the neighborhood go to the apartment office for candy then go to the subdivision across the street. The only time I’ve handed out any candy was the year my neighbor lady’s grandkids came over and I happened to see them outside. I asked her if they could have some candy and she said yes so I shared some of my stash with them. ---

I live near J-8 near 30th street west and made the fatal mistake of taking my son near Candy Cane Lane. What I witnessed was absolutely disgusting to even be part of thanks to hundreds of low life scum bags amoungst thousands that were there at the time. These people that live on that street, I felt so bad for to the point I even felt the need to apologize to one of the families that were outside with a bucket the size of Texas full of candy and couldn’t thank them enough for what they were doing despite what the people were doing to their entire street. It looked like the city dump filled with tons of empty candy wrappers laying all over the street. Saw 2 different groups of adults smoking weed while standing in line with kids all around them like it was no big deal. Parents with their kids in the middle of the street of J8 and tons of traffic coming both ways, as they proceeded to step out into traffic with their hands up and stopping all traffic just 30ft away from a crosswalk. One guy had his daughters hand and started cussing and throwing up his hands at a car driving by that had to swerve around him and his kid to avoid hitting them… I heard one mother yelling at 2 of her 5 kids that were maybe 4 and 6 calling them both "fu#%ing little bitches cuz they got scared of these 3 guys that were running around scaring kids with these evil masks on and the kids didn’t want to walk by them again to the point the mother was just about at the point of whooping their asses if they didn’t “knock their shit off” she said… I overheard one home owner on that street telling another lady that this particular group of people had done several loops around getting candy. Thinking they could just swap masks with each other and keep going back over and over for more candy until he finally got fed up with it and cut them off. It was just the biggest display of garbage ghetto trash folks that obviously have zero respect for those families that go out of their way on Halloween and Christmas every year, spend “tons” of money in candy alone, and allow their streets and sidewalks to be filled with random people. And they do it all for our kids. And for doing so, some of Lancasters finest scum bags show their appreciation by littering or allowing their kids to litter or scam them in order to get more candy. You people that read this know exactly who you are that I’m referring too. If you get affended by this post, then chances are your the people I’m calling out. Be greatful and appreciate what you get from other people. Cuz no one owes you sh/t… > And if any of those families that live on that street happens to see this message or if anyone knows them. Let them know if they need an extra hand cleaning up after what I saw tonight, I’d be glad to lend them a hand and I’m just down the street. Just have them PM me. ---
