[Hamas uses children’s programming to gain support for their violent cause](http://www.comcast.net/news/index.jsp?cat=GENERAL&fn=/2007/05/08/657621.html&cvqh=itn_hamasmickeymouse) . I dont usually talk about politics, but this really busts my buttons. The gall of these people to indoctrinate kids in such a vile manner. Dont they know that the only acceptable way of using TV to manipulate kids is through judicious product placement? Sarcasm folks, but yet I think one can see a clear difference between Mickey, the state of Western youth media, and this travesty of justice. Holy cow, I would have loved to be on the board meeting at the studio for this discussion: “Yeah, OK, so our opinion polls are showing a drop in the under-12 bracket. Any ideas?” “Well, kids like cartoons. We could, ummmm, rip-off Mickey Mouse and have him spout out our ideology all day long.” “Great idea Husef, you’re getting a promotion!” Ugh, what the fuck goes through these people’s heads. Dont you have to be educated to make things for TV? Wait… nevermind, I didn’t think that through. Anyway, this is fucking lame. The malicious shitstains producing this show deserve a good beatdown by Mickey’s foam gloves. To end with a quote by “Farfour,” the Islamic Bizzaro Mickey: “We will return the Islamic community to its former greatness, and liberate Jerusalem, God willing, liberate Iraq, God willing, and liberate all the countries of the Muslims invaded by the murderers.” fuckwits :mad: ---

There ain’t no way in hell that’s a serious kid’s show, though; it has all the earmarks (so to speak) of broad satire. Why would they use Mickey Mouse as a mascot anyway? Doesn’t Mickey represent the sort of Western cultural imperialism that Islamic radicals are generally pissed off about? To use the character as a means of indoctrination would be sort of like PAX TV offering a children’s show starring lovable, kindly, Uncle Osama and his wise quotations from the Koran. ---

What I don’t get is why outside of the US the rest of the world pretty much cuts the Palestinians slack. As F’ed up as Israel is it pales in comparison to dress their kids as suicide bombers, make cartoons like that, and celebrate murderers. ---

[/QUOTE] Israel are the good guys because they are the winners. The side with technological superiority has more leeway in how they prosecute wars. Despite the fact that they kill orders of magnitude more people than the Palestinians, they do it with laser guided weapons, so it’s more ‘humane’. And well, basically, you want the honest truth? The world treats Israel like adults and the Palestinians like children. That’s why Israel is held to a higher standard. Israel is supposed to be a pillar of the community and the Palestinians are considered the delinquent children. Their culture simply isn’t as advanced as the Israeli culture. Israeli identity was built over 5000 years. What we currently call “Palestinian” is a loose confederation of tribes thrown together in refugee camps and are now trying to come up with a cohesive identity. ---

You have to wonder why American Imperial measurements in all their elegance and utility haven’t taken off in the rest of the world: How do other countries manage with that antique metric system? And what business do any foreign nations have, claiming to be free and secure? When they all plainly lack well-armed militias the Constitution has it in black and white are necessary. It could be that their spiritual lives lack the nourishment of Creationism that sustains the US through its daily life. That might be it, the golden path of biblical literalism which leads to all awareness and salvation has yet to be properly trod by those lacking a US habitation.
