Happy Thorsday! I wonder why Loki never got a day of the week? After all he did help Thor get his hammer back. It’s 75 degrees outside with a projected high of 95. I don’t need to go out today and I probably won’t. Although we really do need to go grocery shopping. Maybe I need to hit the cracker aisle and see all these goldfish flavors. Well, that’s a relief - the check engine light was because the gas cap on the car wasn’t secure. So yay. 😃 \*\*FCD \*\*is on his way. And so far, the only 2 crabbers on the list have already been monitored this month, so unless someone else decides to go out, it’ll be an easy day for me. ---

{{ **Cheryl** }} Ugh- I have to go up North for a trustee meeting this weekend- I didn’t realise it was then, and I’d finally managed to make plans to meet up with a friend who’s always busy, and I haven’t seen in ages, just before he disappears ‘til mid August. Bah. It’s going to be an overly long trip as well, as there’s rail works, so I’m going to be getting diverted via somewhere in bleedin’ Wales. Oh, and I didn’t get the job for yesterday’s interview… he did say it was basically just the spreadsheet exercise which someone else did much better on, and I knew I’d messed that up. ---

Here in New Jersey, we can even blame _that_ on somebody else. 🙂 But I once left my gas cap on top of my car somewhere in Virginia and then drove away … for some reason, my 1992 Hyundai Excel didn’t seem it was worth a check-engine light. **{{{{{Cheryl}}}}}** Thanks for coming in to let us know, and I’m terribly sorry for your loss. ---

**(((((Cheryl)))))**, I’m sorry for your loss. I remember her posts, she was a sweet and kind person and will be missed here. It’s hawt out again, I left the office windows wide open last night when I went home so at least this morning it wasn’t quite so stifling in here but it’s warmed up again very quickly. Luckily I am out of here until Tuesday so I will have four glorious days of sunshiney exploits and, even better, three nights of air-conditioned hotel bliss! Off to Antwerp for two days and then Brussels for two days, then back to work on Tuesday which I’m not looking forward to quite so much. Oh, and did I mention I has a blurf? ---

We’ve just received an e-mail that tomorrow will be Crazy Hawaiian Shirt and Funny Hat day. Seriously? I mean, I can win some money, but _seriously???_ I think maybe they’re trying to make up for pissing everybody off with the flip-flop ban. I think I’m going to make a crazy hat out of flip-flops. ---

\*\*Drae \*\*- I’d be left out if I worked with you - I don’t own any Hawaiian shirts, crazy or otherwise, nor do I have a funny hat. That would really upset me if I was the type of person who cared to play such reindeer games. Right up there with wear-your-team-jersey-day - just go ahead and leave out those of us who don’t worship at the altar of sports… :rolleyes: I really hate attempts to make the workplace “fun” - if I enjoy my job, I don’t need that crap, and if I don’t much like my job, such silliness won’t help. It’s probably a good thing that I’m out of the workforce. 😃 ---

The guys in the warehouse have been working all week without the benefit of air conditioning, and I seriously doubt sweating up a Hawaiian shirt is going to make them feel any better about it. ---

I have discovered a new pet peeve. People who write “awe” instead of “aww.” I realize the latter may not actually be a word, but it is certainly not the former so cut that shit out. You are not in awe of my kitten picture, it is an average kitten picture of an average kitten that just happens to be cute. Homophones are _hard._ ---
