The Honeymoon

A couple nights before our wedding, we went out on a “last date” to see Star Trek IV: There be Whales here!

After our wedding, we spent a couple days in Carmel and went to the Aquarium, where they had filmed the aquarium scenes for the movie, and they had a whole wing set up as a display with props from the movie. Very surprising and cool.

Our anniversary’s 11/29. Fifteen years. Damn, it goes by fast…

Wow! I thought the seventh anniversary is tin, or wood or something. You mean it’s the Boinkin’ Anniversary??

It is our sixth. (ha ha, we’ll be an old married couple like you for one day 'till you become older)

jumping up and down waving her arms

Hey! Hey! Lookie over here! I got married December 6th! Woo-hoo! Another December Anniversary.

I just found out my husband plans for the weekend of our anniversary: He wants to set up a poker game. He actually forgot the date (we both do, coming as it does so soon after Thanksgiving) but you know, I don’t mind. It’s been so long since we played poker, I’m hungering to fleece some friends. And it is cheaper than the trip to Western Michigan I had been hoping for.

We were married October 7th…and we did our honeymoon a couple of months later on the Old Sod.

Sigh.

I want to go back…save a pint for me Dub-Dopers…you lucky bastards.

I was married September 8th, this year. Our Italian honeymoon was due to leave September 12th. Thanks to the terrorists, that didn’t happen :frowning:

It was OK, though. We got our money back that day, went home, packed our bags and did a tour of British Columbia without any real idea of where we were going to go. We ended up camping our way around most of the province. We had a blast, despite warnings from my wife’s mother. Sample conversation:
Mom-in-law: I’ll feel so much safer when you’re home. The terrorists will attack the port cities first!
Us: Yup. Port Alice, BC will be right at the top of Osama’s list!

Cranky where were you hoping to go? We have a cabin at Silver Lake, about 25 miles north of Muskegon and 20 miles south of Pentwater. We go there for many, many long weekends in the summer.

The Dells. pffffffft.

It’s bound to be a happy marriage. September 8th is good luck. Okay it’s not really, but it’s my anniversary too.

Married April 29th, this year. (15 guests only !)

We had spent 9 months backpacking through Asia a year before, so there goes all the usual cheap suspects. We also wanted something fairly luxurious, considering we’d been roughing it all across Asia and Europe, and something we’d never be able to justify and thus never do, if we didn’t do it for our honeymoon. And we are both mad-keen divers.

So we went to the Maldives. Overwater bungalows, your own private stretch of beach, excellent diving… it was something I’m happy I’ve done and I’ll never do it again (or really want to !)

I love hearing all these honeymoon stories… aaaahhhh. Maybe we should also start a wedding thread.
