I know there have been a few threads about [CrushLink.com](http://CrushLink.com) on the board in the past, usually posted by someone who got an email and was wondering which Doper was responsible. This isn’t like that. I’m not asking which of you are responsible because I know that none of you are. (Er, I mean none of you have crushes on me. Of course you’re all _responsible_. 🙂 ) Anyway, after writing a lengthy email to CrushLink and telling them that I think they are spammers, I thought of a fun guerilla tactic. I have now added to my crush list the following addresses: [ul] [li]webmaster@crushlink.com[/li][li]admin@crushlink.com[/li][li]root@crushlink.com[/li][li]CrushMaster@crushlink.com[/li][li]alias@crushlink.com[/li][li]mail-daemon@crushlink.com[/li][li]mailer-daemon@crushlink.com[/li][li]nobody@crushlink.com[/li][li]postmaster@crushlink.com[/li][/ul] I tried countless more, but these were the ones that it accepted as valid email addresses. I figure they deserve some of their own spam. ---

Oh I am soooo there. I hate these damn e-mails. Guess who has a crush on you? Here’s a hint: there are letters in their name. Need another hint: there could be vowels in the name. What a crock, if I ever find out who’s responsible for my name being put on that list we are going to have a long painful experience. ---

not to point out the obvious… well ok, to point out the obvious… assuming crushlink is running any kind of halfway decent mail daemon, I’m certain they have (or atleast will have in about 10 minutes) a filter that throws any mail to root (et al) from crushlink other than allowed addresses right in the old bit bucket basically… if the sender line of the header is not in an aproved list, the mail gets copied right to /dev/null still a cute idea… and who knows, maybe they don’t have any talented people there that would remedy this ironic action with 1 minute of work. ---

Argh, someone sent me one of thse and I feel for it. I put several email addresses I kow to be dead but valid and got the useless hints but I wasn’t going to sign up for a damn spam list. I’m forty frickin years old, I don’t need grammar schoool games. ---

When you hear something that sounds like a good idea, like crushlink, and then you experience the reality of using it (spam), that’s one of those situations that show that old ways are sometimes best. Sure, I could use crushlink, but I prefer to remain a stalker. (For the humor-impaired, {which in this case may be the author of this post}, I in no way advocate stalking. As far as you know.) ---

Their domain registration lists the email address [counsel@CrushLink.com](mailto:counsel@CrushLink.com) - you might want to add that to your list. Give serious thought to [abuse@rackspace.com](mailto:abuse@rackspace.com) - their host. This is nothing more than a shifty way to harvest email addresses. ---

I feel your pain. And why is it that I always get the same hints? “Your crush has 5 letters in his/her first name, and 3 in his/her last name!” Well guess what, asshole spammers? **I HAVE NEVER MET ANYONE WITH A NAME LIKE THAT.** I seriously do believe that once you have been Crushed, you’re Crushed For Life. I like to think of CrushLink as a little stalker boy…one who thinks it’s _fun_ to give you a runaround and annoy you to no end. However, a much better bet at [ECrush.com](http://www.ecrush.com). Plus it’s got horror date stories, what more could you ask for? (In terms of online crushdom, that is…) ---
