Up, caffeinated, off to work. Booster Club Board meeting after.

**Ruble** , I remember reading about the Furry fest. Would have been interesting if it happened at the same time and place as the Booster Club convention in 2011(like the wedding brawl wasn’t interesting enough).😃

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffienatin’. _YAWN_ ‘Tis 71 Amurrkin out with a predicted high of 87 and maybe rain. Or not. Who knows. The weather PTB have been slackin’ on the forecast lately.

And now, the latest from **MOOOOOOM’S** life as a [del]pirate[/del] tourist on the high seas.

> [@MOOOOOOM](#):
>
> 9-8 Southampton, Stonehenge, and Salisbury
>
> This is being sent out a day late because first night of the cruise is crazy slow with all the new users trying to get signed up. So you’ll get Monday’s new on Tuesday. Deal – life’s rough sometimes!
>
> Monday ended the first part of the cruise and started the second. Once again, Princess messed with us. We got a statement in our mailbox stating that we disembark. Um, no. I went to the desk yet again to talk to one of the guest services people and he assured me all was fine and despite our cruise card having ending on Sep 8, we could wait till we got back from our excursion to get a new one. He lied. When we tried to come back aboard, Security pulled us out of line and had us wait on the side while someone from Admin took our old cruise cards and got us new ones. Then it turns out the changing of the card disabled my internet account, which I just finished getting fixed with the help of a very nice internet manager. Boy, howdy, is this cruise line going to get a letter from me when this is all over…
>
> Once again, I woke way too early, what with time change and our early arrival in Southampton. We were on the dock side of the ship, so I got to hear all the noise of the gangplanks being installed, the luggage being brought off the ship, the luggage crates being broken down noisily, and various loud sounds I couldn’t identify. But we had breakfast, watched a little TV, then went to meet with our tour group for a day at Stonehenge and Salisbury.
>
> I don’t think I’ve mentioned, but everywhere we’ve taken a bus, we’ve been required to wear a seatbelt. And in most cases, one end was practically buried between the seat cushion and the frame of the seat, so the only way to fasten was by feel – and that didn’t always work. But apparently if the bus gets pulled over, passengers who are not belted can be fined. Rah.
>
> Anyway, we had a scenic drive to Stonehenge which started out sunny and ended up dreary and overcast, naturally. We were surprised at the number of people there – who goes to Stonehenge on a Monday morning??? Lots of folks, apparently. But our admission included a device for taking a self-directed tour – you punch in certain numbers at certain spots along the path and various narrators tell you all sorts of fascinating facts. So that was nice. We took tons of photos as we circled around. Among the younger visitors, the popular photo seemed to involve standing with arms outstretched, head raised with the stones in the background. Being tragically unhip, I have no idea what they were up to.
>
> Once we finished the walking tour, we returned to the visitor center where they had mock-up of the types of huts they think the workers lived in, plus an exhibit showing how they believe the stones were moved – more photo ops! Finally, we made a quick pass thru the gift shop for yet another fridge magnet, plus free samples of lemon curd and something else they were selling. That all pretty much filled the 2 hours we had there. And, naturally, as the bus pulled out, the sky turned blue and the sun came out.
>
> Next, we headed into Salisbury for another hour and a half. We stopped in a little place for some lunch, since it was after 1 – Mom did fish and chips yet again, and I had a chicken and mushroom pie – very yum!! Apparently green peas are a very popular side dish in this little corner of the world. Luckily, we like green peas. When I went to pay, I had to show the guy working the register how to swipe a credit card. Apparently the only cards he’s ever encountered have chips that are read from a separate slot. So I flipped my card in the correct direction and ran it thru the magnetic reader – eureka!! Good thing it worked – we had no cash and I hadn’t brought my debit card.
>
> After eating, we headed towards Salisbury Cathedral where we caught up with our tour guide, so we hung with him and a small subgroup from our bus, figuring he’d get us back to the bus on time. And pretty much all we had time for was about 5 or 6 minutes at the cathedral, then a march back to the bus. Lunch took longer than we’d expected, so once again, no real time to play tourist. But everyone was on the bus on time, so there’s that, and we got back to the ship in plenty of time. And that’s where the adventure of the cruise card occurred…
>
> We’ve got another time change in anticipation of Bergen, Norway on Wednesday. I plan to get up early Tuesday and toss a load of clothes into a washer. Assuming we continue to be as tidy as we have been we shouldn’t have to do more than this one load. Since there’s just 2 weeks to go, I think we’re going to make it without another laundry day! WOOHOO!!
>
> Tuesday night’s another formal dinner, but other than that, it’s an at-sea day, so I won’t have anything to share. You’ll hear from me again on Wednesday. MWAH!

Now I need more caffiene and rumbly tummy is hongry. Then, alas and alack, irk purtification must commence. Le Sigh.

Happy Tuesday Y’all!

Happy Toosday.

It’s a cloudy 70 degrees outside. looks like it is going to rain any second.
I didn’t sleep wll and have a horrible headache.

Today is laundry day and pizza day.
I’m hoping that maybe I can get Sah-son up in the attic today to fetch the things that are mine.
The male half is gone, the female half appears to have gone to work and I think my mother and her bf will be going bowling.

In the what the hell are you thinking department
Somme of y’all will remember when I told you about my friends son-in-law trying to kill her daughter? Her daughter joined a support group for women who have been battered or gone through other trauma.
The leader of the group, a psychologist no less, expressed her dismay at Ray Rice being fired from the Ravens.
Who in the hell expresses that view in front of a bunch of battered women!!!
My friends daughter told the leader off and walked out of her group, sadly only one other woman got up and left with her.

**Doggio** not only will you not find an olive fork in my house, you won’t find any of those nasty olives either. YUK! However in the event I should ever have some around for entertainment purposes you can use an iced tea spoon to fish one out. Don’t worry, I’ll give you a clean spoon to stir your tea. I wouldn’t be so uncouth as to expect you to lick off all the olive juice and then stir your tea.

As far as I know, stuff like that never happened when I lived there. At least, I was never invited to any orgies of any type.

**Swampy** if you drop her, let me know so that I can add her to my list. I think I’m going to play again this year.

It rained all day yesterday and most of last night. Many schools and government facilities (including shipyards of all places) are on a 2-hour delay this morning. Not because they expect the water to be gone by then (because we’re due for more rain) but because that’s how long it will take to detour around the flooded areas. Half of the off ramps along I-64 are closed. And I’ve got to go to the Virginia Beach convention center this afternoon so that I can attend a trade show/symposium.

Forgot to add the footnote from \> sewage\* \< in my first post. Sorry. (Go below line for non-sewage related hellos.)

- No one official will use the word sewage any more because it has **negative connotations**. God forbid that bodily wastes should have negative connotations. And, yes, I know that for many plants, the volume of industrial wastewater surpasses the volume of domestic wastewater. I also know that’s not the reason that they changed the name.

## How do I know? Ten or so years ago the relevant professional association decided that the word **sludge** also had negative connotations. They actually wrote about that and polled members for ideas for a replacement. The winner: **biosolids**. We are now safe from sewage sludge, which has been replaced with wastewater biosolids. I know I feel safer.

Good to hear that **Mooms’** travels and travails are continuing. Well, the second part isn’t good, so much, it’s just along for the ride.

Good for your friend’s daughter, **Sari**. Also good that you have ice tea spoons. They are good for many things.

My middle son is in Phoenix, so he sent me rain pictures. Well, rain buildup pictures. I’d call them flood pictures, but the extra water is clearly under control.

He pointed out a local park when I first visited, after he moved there. The park was sunken so that it could act as a detention basin during heavy rain. There was a big concrete drainage ditch along the side of the main road. Phoenix is ready for sudden rain.

He said that before the rain, there was a dust storm that intensified into a [haboob](http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Haboob). That addition to my vocabulary still makes me giggle.

It was quite a scandal for a couple years. Seems as how all the mascots were in the break room and some chemical substances or beverages may have been involved but ------- next thing you know Minnie really was f#$%ing Goofy and Donald and Mickey were doing this 69 thing and -------- OK it was basically simulated sex but -------- someone had a camcorder and it ended up on YouTube.

Since the actual guilty were hidden there were mass firings and the ax swung hard up the ladder three or four rungs.

**Flytrap** Ray Rice is a football player and the Ravens are a football team. It is because of the Ravens that Baltimore turns into a sea of purple every football season and why tacky purple flamingos were invented.
[http://espn.go.com/nfl/story/\_/id/11489134/baltimore-ravens-cut-ray-rice-new-video-surfaces](http://espn.go.com/nfl/story/_/id/11489134/baltimore-ravens-cut-ray-rice-new-video-surfaces)
There was a time when all of this would have been swept under the rug. Not anymore and it’s about time.

Damn those pesky elevators though! Didn’t somebody else just lose his job because he kicked a puppy on one? No more adjusting my bra, underwear or anything else on elevators. You never know who might be watching.

So I took a little nap and my headache is gone. I need to start getting my laundry together. I wonder if Sah-son is up and what it will take to bribe him to go up in the attic. Then I have to order pizza and groceries - not from the same place.

One can never have too many iced tea spoons, and I’m adding a deviled egg tray to my list. I’m a Pagan not a Heathen!

I got the kid to go up in the attic but he couldn’t get to my stuff. Seems the HFH put a bunch of shit up there and pushed all my stuff to the back. He’s never been comfortable up there so I asked my niece to help him. She also said she’ll ask her current bf and ex bf to help when it comes time to move and they will keep their mouths shut.

I have two boxes down and neither has much in it except I found an old coffee mug I thought my mother had thrown away. It was a gift from an old friend and has a lot of sentimental value to me. That of course wouldn’t stop her from throwing it away. It took me damn close to a year to get her to stop bitching at me to throw away a pillow on my bed. Not her bed, not her pillow, she didn’t have to lay her head on it, didn’t even have to look at it but damn she was bound and determined I _HAD_ to throw it away.
I still have it 😃

I just found my peacock vase too. Cool!
It will be interesting to see what else I find up there.
Although probably half of it should be thrown away.

Howdy from da cave! Yes, da cave. The A/C is actin’ wonky at the orifice. [del]Minion[/del] Assistant (actually both of ‘em, but one is in another place) is out in the field. I was goin’ to make chikin 'n dumplin’s for dindin but it somehow has become chikin 'n rice with lime and cilantro. YUM! Peas 'n carrots shall compose the vegetative matter. Easy and simple, the way I like my men.

**sari** a vase for a peacock? Who knew such a thing existed! 😃 I am proud to know you shall possess a deviled aig tray. I have several and even a deviled aig carrier. Some folks would just take the carrier and plop it down on a table as if it is a suitable container for servin’. Though I will use the carrier the deviled aigs are tranferred onto a proper deviled aig tray for servin’. Yes, even in a picnic type settin’. I was raised right.

Go to the arts-n-crafts store, buy a bunch of peacock feathers and glue them to a plastic yard flamingo.

And be glad the plastic ones are silent. Real peacocks can be obnoxiously loud.

**gotti** I used to take a friend’s kid (said kid is now 25 and would be mortified if he knew I was tellin’ this) to the zoo. This was a neat zoo with animals in habitats. Peacocks roamed around all over the place screechin’. So, lions, tigers, bears (oh my!), elephants, crocodiles, capybaras, monkeys and all sorts of cool wildlife to see and what fascinated him was the screechin’ peacocks.

Ok, he did love to feed the baby goats and the lambs. I have to admit that was always a big thing for me as well. They were so keeeeeeeyoooooooote!
