I did last Firday, when I quit. I’ll be bringing them THIS Firday, 'cuz it’ll be my birfday.

**FCM** I have considered that now that it’s hot outside.

He’s such a flipped out dog anyway.  
He moves his bed all over the place, then goes and lays on the floor.  
He’s driving me crazy over treats, I got him pup-peroni this time and he would eat the whole bag if I let him.

Damn this pisses me off.

My paternal grandmother died when I was 5, my grandfather died when I was 15.  
My father had 5 siblings and when my grandfather died they went through the house and split everything up between them. Kind of a I’ll take this and you take that and everything was fine.  
They sold the house and split the money, including a half brother in on that.

When my father died 26 years ago, some of my aunts and uncles called my mother wanting my grandparents stuff back so they could ‘keep it in the family’. I guess the HFH and I don’t count as family?  
Anyway, it has started up again. I have my grandmother’s ring and my uncle wants it to give to my cousin who shares the same birth month as my grandmother.  
WTF!!! So my mother told them I have it and they asked her to ask me to give it back!  
FUCK THEM!!! They all can kiss my ass!  
I have my grandfather’s desk and they want that back too.  
I guess I’d better not let them know I have the old dining chair too.

I should have moved further away.  
Who needs that kind of shit from their own family?

I just finished cleaning out the worm bin. Some went to the herb garden and the rest is in two bags waiting to be taken to Irish Storyteller. He has a lot more garden than I do so he should appreciate it.

While I was doing that it got Ungodly Hot outside, so I went inside, remembered I needed to repot the aloe I got last week, did that, came back in, and vowed not to go back out for the next eight hours.

Big plans for the day include emailing some concrit to an LJ buddy whose novella I just read, working on my own story, and making a pot of tea. Possible plans may include missing an irk meeting–I can’t remember if I was supposed to go today or tomorrow. Either way I remember it was at 10 a.m. so if it was today I’ve already missed it.

77 already, and it isn’t even 10am yet. Ugh. Predicted high today 98. Eeewww. The next four days are going to be over 100, and I’ll be working those days. NOT thrilled.

Day off today, need to do laundry and collect several items from Office Depot. For some bizarre reason, textbook publishers have developed a fondness for loose-leaf, so I had several textbooks from prior semesters in three-ring binders. Had the nice people at Office Depot spiral-bind them for me. (On a side note, don’t think I’ll be using their copy/print service again, since I dislike being cross-examined about how I plan to use what I brought in.)

Textbook publishers are getting cheap, that’s why the switch from real covers to bring-your-own. As to how you plan to use what you’re getting bound, just look them right in the eye and say “Nefarious purposes,” in an ominous voice. 😃

Or I can just take my money to Staples, which doesn’t interrogate their customers about how they plan to use their own property. Yeah, that annoys me. Not griping about the nice counter girl, she was doing what she had to, offended by corporate suits mandating such intrusions.

Just back from my local Amish market with another dozen (plus one) peaches and a seedless watermelon. The peaches are on the windowsill for the moment, since I washed all the fuzz off. When they’re properly dry, I’ll put them in a paper bag to ripen. They’re pretty firm at the moment. I figure 3 days in the bag will do it.

The watermelon is in the fridge, and once it chills a bit, I’ll chunk it up into a plastic container or two. Yum!! Our fridge is becoming very fruity!

I like a candy bar as much as anyone, but I wouldn’t have a candy bar while fixing the bathroom. Chocolate has medicinal properties not anticeptic properties.

Damn. Just - damn. That’s jaw-dropping.

I had a long, quiet weekend. We got rid of another four boxes of stuff from the kitchen. We’ve cleared enough off of the counter to inspire my son to declare that we should clean it immediately after using it. It’s nice to have someone helping with that. It makes me more likely to keep at it, myself.

That reminds me of the DQ ice-cream-cake cupcake things they have at DQ in New York City. My sister really liked them.
