Happy Ruble Day!
Getting buried under a bit of an avalanche of skool irk. We’ve reached the point in the year when they expect us to be getting the hang of stuff, but the course-irk deadlines are all rapidly approaching,s o we really don’t want extra ‘formative’ work.
Finally got the first bit of marked course-irk for this year back though, which was reassuring. They’re being dead slow marking this year, can empathise with Sah-son; in our case it’s 'cos of bigger classes, and too many classes per tutor.
Anyway, I should get back to it…

Happy birthday ruble!
I went to irk for two hours this morning. I took the rest of the day off to go to the doctor to treat the sinus crud, get a quart of hot and sour soup, an antibiotic prescription and come home for a nap. I’m feeling a little better now, but it will take a while.
My dad and his brother worked in the automotive industry for most of their work lives. Dad retired making more money a month than I do working when he was 57 years old. Unc went into management in his late forties, so he stayed until he was 65. A whole mess of Mom’s family worked for various Dana plants and retired after 30 years. A couple of uncles retired at 48 and one of those became the child care provider for his grandchildren for a few years before going back to work in another job. My godparents retired from Fisher Body and Delco Remy in their fifties and began fishing off the pontoon full time. 🙂
Me? I worked for a GM subsidiary for seven years before the plant closed. I was offered a transfer to our Monterrey, Mexico plant (I had helped them get their quality program set up), but I knew that a) I would be training my replacement and b) I didn’t want to be a lone Anglo female living in Monterrey. So I came to Tennessee instead. 🙂

I got my ash in church and am now officially butt dust. 😃 'Twas a well-attended and meaningful service. Choir sang a beautiful anthem. All I had to do was be in a pew and follow instructions. I told Deacon Joy before I left that I couldn’t think of a reason why I would need to be over there at all tomorrow. She then told me that I shouldn’t ever say that because that’s what causes things to blow up and cave in. 😃 I love Joy!

Well, that was fun.
Booked my travel for my June-July U.S. of A. vacation and was rather proud of myself, got all the flight times I wanted and the price was several hundred dollars less than I had budgeted. So all was good…until I checked my notes and realized that there are only 30 days in June…had to cancel (fortunately, Expedia let me cancel at no charge, although it might take 8-10 days to get the refund) and rebook, this time via the airline, and it actually ended up cheaper by a whole $1.36.
Now need to do hotels (have you ever seen the costs for hotels in Boston!?!? :eek::eek::eek:
Passed out uniforms for players for a couple of hours and have consumed mac -n- cheese for dinner, so all is well at casa Rat.

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. _YAWN_ ‘Tis 33 Amurrkin out and clear (well, dark) with a predicted high of 63 and N.O.S. for the day. Tomorrow will be considerably warmer with a high in the 70s. This is the time of year where Spring is tryin’ to shove Winter out of the way. No real biggie plans for the day which is fine by me. Beastloaf for sup with whatever else I decide. I think mac 'n cheese for sure but need to decide on vegetative matter.
OK, I need more caffeine and to feed rumbly tummy. Then, onward into the day! Rah.

Dragging this morning - I think it’s a Nyquil hangover. But I didn’t have a choice - the cough was driving me crazy last night. Here’s hoping caffeine kicks in soon.
My sis gets back from the sunny Caribbean today - it’s below freezing hereabouts. I hope she packed at least one warm thing… And in a coupla months, she and mom are flying to Amsterdam to do another cruise. Good for them!

So it’s supposed to get to 52F today, a veritable heat wave for this week, so I may be out there on the soccer fields trying to organize 40 or more 6 year old girls…:eek::eek::eek:
Otherwise not much planned, actually got the garbage out first thing this morning and that was the major labor that needed to be done. May spend time booking hotels for my vacation. Oh joy.

**FCM** , if Sis and Mom taking a cruise in the Baltics in April/May, they’d better pack some warm clothes, it’s still a bit chilly in those northern climes…but it is beautiful country.
