I was economical and packed my lunch today. Got enough left over for lunch tomorrow. Yay me! It’s currently 84 degrees outside, and tomorrow, we’ll have a high of 61. Welcome to March in Texas. Next Sunday is my parents’ 45th wedding anniversary. Mom always said “Divorce, never. Murder, maybe.” ---

Now, no so much. I don’t mind nature walks, but at the end of the day, I want a real bed and indoor plumbing, and I doubt there’s a lot of that along hiking trails. Our oven’s self-cleaning cycle sucks. In fact, all of our appliances are GE and I’m not impressed with any of them. The compressor on the fridge has been weird since it was a year old, the top rack of the dishwasher has rusted thru on one end, the microwave light is sporadic, and now the self-clean doesn’t - and these appliances are just over 8 years old in an adult household. It’s not like kids are abusing them. What suckage! No idea what we’ll do for supper. I don’t want to cook, but FCD is in his jammie pants, so we’re in for the night. I’m thinking mac-n-cheese or PB&J sammiches - something quick and easy. Where’s the slacker supper fairy?? ---

Back from the eye doc. Damn people are rude. We go in the back to get the preliminary work done and the tech takes us to the waiting room for the doctor. There’s 2 of us and only 4 seats left and some teenaged boy has his feet on the chair across from him blocking the access to the rest of the seats. The tech leads us over and tells us to have a seat, and the brat sits there with his mother beside him until the tech finally told him to move his feet. His mother didn’t say a word, not to him and not even an I’m sorry to us. WTH??? !!! If Sah-kid tried something like that his head would have been smacked right off his shoulders. Not really because I never even spanked him except for twice when he got a little swat on his diaper to get his attention. Then the doctor answers a call on his cell phone, while we are siting there. He gets into a loooooong conversation about how much vacation time he has taken, how much he has left. All the while he is pulling crap out of his briefcase looking for paperwork about what days were vacation days and which he was owed because of holidays. Then he apologizes to whoever it was on the other end for taking up so much of her time trying to clear up the confusion. Then the lady who completes the order got all huffy because Sah-kid hadn’t picked out his frames yet. Nobody told us to. Then she really got irritated because he didn’t want the thinner lenses that cost $135 more. I didn’t care, I told him to get what he wants but he says he’s not paying more for a thinner lens. He’s not paying, I am, I told him to get what he wants. What he wanted was to get the hell out of there and get something to eat. If he doesn’t like them we can go back and get something else. ---

I hear ya **MOOOOOOM**! My idea of roughin’ it is a hotel with no room service. 😃 Ok, I did stay in a cabin weekend before last. A cabin with electric lights, central heat, gas fireplace, gas grill, a hot tub, a whirlpool bathtub and a complete kitchen. How did those pioneers do it all the time! Dindin is et and dishes are washed. I even ahrned three more shirts. I’m so industrious! ---

**Spaz** , I’m pretty sure I’ve said this before, but I have a print of your favorite painting in my room. I would love to see the original. Places I’d like to go back to, in no particular order: Paris, London, Vienna, Berlin, New York, Chicago, D.C. There are probably a bunch of other things I want to do, but I’m tired and they’re not coming to mind. I’m pretty sure I owe a bunch of hugs from the last MMP. I had the smaller Chilean bought in a pot once, and insects ate it almost overnight. I bought some seeds once that didn’t sprout. I’m going to try it again in Zone 7, grow them in a pot of mud, buried in the yard and cover it with a ton of leaves to Winter them over. I’ve wanted it ever since I read about it in a 1930’s English book on water gardening. ---
