Gaaah. Got home to find another letter from the jobcentre- apparently the last letter they sent was _not_ supposed to be the decision letter for a sanction, and theyā€™ve somehow decided that my reason for not attending work programme meetings (I didnā€™t receive any letters notifying me about them) was valid for the first letter, but not for the second. So yeah, theyā€™ve decided to try stick me on a 4 week sanction. Iā€™m appealing, because that seems just plain stupid- either itā€™s fair enough to not go to a meeting because you werenā€™t informed about it or it isnā€™t, but for it to be OK only half the time makes no sense at all. Either way, Iā€™m pretty well screwed for a while, as itā€™ll take at least a week for them to look at the appeal, which is after the date my next paymentā€™s due. Iā€™m not fully convinced any letters were actually sent- as apparently the housemateā€™s boyfriend, whoā€™s also been dealing with the same people has also not been getting appointment letters, and the royal mail arenā€™t _that_ bad. The ā€˜Work Programmeā€™ people are pretty inept (Iā€™ve had a lot of misinformation from them, including giving me the wrong dates for a course both before doing it, and afterwards confirming my attendance, as well as incorrectly telling me the card for the course Iā€™m currently on would be paid for). Thereā€™s no penalties for them if a client doesnā€™t turn up, after all- thereā€™s just a less busy day. I really donā€™t need more stress at the moment, and this is going to be a nightmare to deal with, with no guarantees. Ps. Yay for baby killies, Flytrap! Always wanted to keep them, but theyā€™re hard to find here- especially females. ---

Back from erranding. Iā€™m just finishing my lunch. I also pulled the sheets off the line because it looks like rain. Since theyā€™re now inside, it wonā€™t rain - such is life. I think the rest of the afternoon will be spent knitting and watching TV, just because. The other day I started going thru my queue in Netflix and I dumped 2 series after only a few minutes. They were nothing like the blurbs suggested. Weā€™ll see what I can find to amuse myself. ---

Okā€¦ this is just getting weird. I just realised there are two (menā€™s) tshirts- neither of which belong to me- on a chair in my bedroom. On top of a file I left there this morning. My housemate left for work before I went out today, and hasnā€™t been back in since. What the hell is going on? Why would anyone break into my room and dump some freshly laundered tshirts in there? I can only assume itā€™s the decorators- but why would they do that? Why would anyone do that? ---

The landlord is coming! The landlord is coming! The agenda is a couple of heavy repairs and improvements I canā€™t do myself and he canā€™t afford to pay a contractor to do. The upshot is day 2 of housecleaning, including the dread shampooing of carpets, which is done. Now to clean the bathroom and to mop the kitchen floor. ā˜¹ Hell of a way to start a vacation. :grumble: ---
