I’m glad you’ll get a chance to go out and celebrate proper-like… every uterus deserves a big send-off party. 🙂 Sorry to hear the BF will be staying a bit longer, **Haze**. On the bright side, it does sound like he’s a lovely, responsible, helpful young man… and that’s always a good thing in a BF, right? The Boy’s students don’t seem quite as helpless… thankfully. I got a giggle the other night when we met up with some of them for an end-of-term drink, and as soon as he ducked out to use the washrooms, one of them piped up “so, are you really taller than him?” 😃 (The Boy is 5’4", which means I am indeed just barely taller than he is) So last night I took the plunge and finally bought myself an iPhone. It’s shiny! As I expected, the upgrade experience was about as pleasant as a tooth extraction without painkillers, but that’s why everyone in the company is expected to go through the usual channels when we have requests… we’re not as likely to design stupid and frustrating policies if we have to experience them firsthand just like regular folks. ---

Thanks for all the birthday wishes! Mom and Dad are on their way, and the weather’s looking good so they should be here for tonight’s birthday dinner. As a Xmas present, my manager gave us gift certificates to one of our favorite restaurants. So after the parents leave and we don’t want to do any more cooking, we’ll go there for a belated birthday dinner. {{ **Dotty** }} Sucks that you’ve got to do it, but hopefully they’ve caught it early and that’ll be all there is to it. Glad you can go out and celebrate New Year’s first. ---

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TAXI!!! Big hugs and fast recovery vibes to you, **Dotty.** Today is my Friday, but I have ass tons of work to do here. I’m taking my laptop home, because I’ll need to queue up ad hoc reports to run for the weekend and early Monday morning. Well, it’s happened again. Two of our county sheriff’s deputies were ambushed and shot last night not far from where I live. One is in critical condition and one has been upgraded to serious condition. I hope both deputies pull through. The shooter was killed. I guess I better dig into my work. I don’t want to, but I will because I’m a good little drone. ---

I just finished making [these](http://www.recipezaar.com/Gingerbread-Men-3213) with HRH. Good fun and OMG they are sooooo tasty!!! Let’s just say however that if you want perfectly formed gingerbread men, stars and christmas trees, don’t let a 2 year old cut out the cookies! 😉 I treated myself to an early Christmas present today and bought myself a [food processor](http://www.amazon.co.uk/Philips-HR7620-White-Processor-Settings/dp/B002IC05UI/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&s=kitchen&qid=1261497561&sr=8-3) - nothing fancy or too expensive, but enough to make my chicken liver pate tomorrow and whatever else take my fancy. I admit there is no room for it in my kitchen, either in the cupboards or on the benchtop (not enough room to do much of anything in there), but I have a little space in my under-stairs storage where it can live in between kitchen adventures! Wow **Taters**! Again??? It sure seems like there a few people over your way with a bug in their a$$ about policemen! It just isn’t right! ---

Missed the edit window - **Bobbio** , likely yes they would reject it - since the clap is most definitely an STD, but they probably would pay for treatment of penile cancer (also allegedly caused by HPV) since they can’t test men for HPV! My sister made an interesting point today - pregnancy is a sexually transmitted disease, but they cover for that! ---

**Happy Happy, Taxi!!!** I had a good day at work. I had some uninterrupted hours to get a clear picture in my mind of what I need to get done, and I done did it! Which means tomorrow, I just need to pick up where I left off. The only bad part is I have to talk with this one idiot who is a royal pain in the patoot to deal with. However, he’s working for me, so I get to make the rules. 😃 I forgot to tell you, speaking of toys, during **FCD** ’s gift exchange at work, he got [Humphrey the Humping Chihuahua](http://www.spencersonline.com/product/humphrey-the-humping-dog1/). _Ohmygoodnessgraciousit’shilarious!!!_ It not only goes thru the motions, it’s got accompanying sound effects! It’s going into our family gift exchange. I expect it’ll be stolen several times. Daughter and I are going out for Bad Chinese and bringing some home for **FCD**. The cold is really hard on his back. Plus he’s tired and doesn’t want to go out. So it’s girls’ night out. Two down, one anna half to go. Ho ho ho ---
