I believe that the noise making was part of the protests that were going on. I understand that the tactic is to make noise - like blowing whistles - to alert people to hide from the ICE raids.
I have learned a lot from this thread. Here are my thoughts:
The Feds will get the first crack at this, and they will take their time “investigating.” Here’s my prediction, in four months when this does not dissipate as an issue, Johnanthan Ross will be fired for “improper discharge of a firearm” or something equally stupid. Two months after that, the federal government will charge him with some lower degree of manslaughter when they realize they can’t sidestep the issue.
Minnesota will wait for the feds to act first. As they should. Since the FBI is not letting them participate in the “official” investigation, i.e. the coverup, they should stay away. Minnesota, though, should do their own investigation and wait until the Trump administration is over and they can file proper murder charges. Because it’s clear Jonathan Ross murdered Renee More.
On this murder, the Feds and the State of Minnesota have concurrent jurisdiction. The Feds can convict Ross and Trump can give him a pardon, but there is no statute of limitations on murder. The State of Minnesota can then file murder charges and put Mr. Moore on trial. As I have learned from this thread, there will be an argument regarding where to hold that trial.
In the end, it will likely wind up in Federal court, with a Federal judge using Minnesota law with Minnesota prosecutors. It may not happen in Minnesota, with a Minnesota jury, but it should. If he is convicted, he is convicted under Minnesota law which does not make him eligible for a pardon by Trump.
Jonathan Ross will have a lawyer who will not want to put him on the stand. The argument will be that he “feared for his life” and he had to kill Renee More.
(What a bunch of cowards all of these cops are that claim that they “fear for their life” every time they kill someone who isn’t holding a gun. “I had to kill them because I was afraid,” they say. What a bunch of cowards. Anyone who pleads that has no business being on the streets of any city in this country.) just my own 2 bits - candide
But that is neither here nor there. If Jonathan Ross wants to avoid forty years, he will have to take the stand and plead his pussyness, saying: “I feared for my life.”
IANAL, but I would have hundreds of questions for Mr. Ross if I were the prosecutor. And if he gets on the sand, he will have a lot to answer for. Here are my top 10:
1. After driving around Ms More’s Pilot from behind, you parked in the right lane of a one-way-street. Did you expect her to drive around you?
2. Did you start filming as soon as you stepped out of your unmarked vehicle because you were afraid?
3. Did you start being afraid when you saw her big dog looking out at you from the back window of Ms More’s car?
4. Did you know that Ms More’s car might be able to run you over the first time you walked in front of it?
5. Have you been trained not to walk in front of a moving car?
6. When Ms. More said to you, “I don’t hate you,” did that make you afraid?
7. Did it make you angry?
8. Why did you walk in front of Ms More’s car a second time while your colleagues were trying to get her out of her vehicle?
9. Did you hear any of your colleagues tell Ms More, “Get out of here.”?
10. Were you still angry at Ms More after you had killed her and she crashed into cars further down the road and you can be heard to say, “Fucking bitch!”?
I think it stopped by the time the Agent’s phone video was made. Depending on when the window video started it went on for a couple of minutes.
I’m not.
American police have always been notorious for their brutality (and bigotry), and we shouldn’t “support” them until if and when that changes. Heck, I recall a quote from a European visitor in the early 1900s commenting that US police “compared with the Inquisition” in terms of their cruelty.
We just keep pretending that the brutal, murderous ones are the exception rather than the norm. A dangerous fantasy that gets people killed when they treat the police as something other than violent maniacs.
No they should not. The FBI has made it clear they are not treating this murder seriously, it’s duty of the state authorities to see this murder victim faces justice.
TBH I think we were somewhat lucky the feds are being so blatant about it, enabling the state authorities to be able to take it over with obvious justification. If they were smarter the feds would give just enough cooperation while making sure the investigation went nowhere, which would make the decision to take it over much harder for the state.
The Feds showed their hand when Noem popped up on a podium in her Deputy Dog cowboy hat and made stupid untrue remarks. Then Trump dumped a load.
Stunk stuff up.
For what it’s worth:
A 95% American male has a bideltoid shoulder breadth of 21.8 inches with arms down at his side (per CAESAR human factors data). Such a man is 74.8” tall. The 50% American male is 19.1” wide across the shoulders and stands 69.6” tall.
I thought it was interesting to see how accurate your estimate was and it’s not that far off!
I’m too angry about all the things to wade into the video analysis and debate but I want a proper murder investigation.

The victim in this saga is/was Renee Nicole Macklin Good; the shooter: Jonathan Ross

Yeah - I guess I shoulda thought <24”, assuming a waist of 36-40”. OTOH, I am regularly surprised at how much “space” an average person’s body occupies.
Like you, I wish an investigation. If I am going to disapprove of the admin’s hasty assessment, I withhold my own.
I admire your optimism.
My prediction; The feds double and triple down. They interfere with any State investigation in legal and quasi-legal ways. Ross gets a go-fund me campaign and nets several million dollars, even though he’s in no legal jeopardy.
No charges are ever laid at either the federal or state level.
Demands are made to put up a statue of Ross, or name a street after him.
Finally; Ross runs for office somewhere and becomes a MAGA politician.
This cop also murdered someone in Minneapolis:
And he’s serving time. I know that he wasn’t a fed, but if Ross gets off, it won’t be for lack of trying on the part of Minnesota.
Oh I’m sure the state will try. But they’ll be faced with the entire Fed justice department against them. I would not be surprised to see Minnesota officials charged by the Feds for “crimes” if they try to continue to investigate.
You think? Well, that certainly settles the matter.
Yeah. And here in Chicago we were remembering the cop who assassinated Laquan McDonald - and was convicted. But totally different when you have a corrupt administration willing to go to any length to blatantly lie and impede any investigation.
The ICE agents also prevented Renee Good from receiving immediate medical attention. She was eventually put into an ambulance, but it was delayed because ICE had the street blocked.
Agreed. My point was that I’m sure that they’ll try to get justice, though I’m not convinced it will be successful, unfortunately. ![]()
I can still hope.
The locals are being actively blocked from seeing the evidence, and by the time they are allowed to view what scraps remain there is a great possibility that it will be corrupted or “disappeared”.
