I’m afraid that time is over. No political pressure will stop this guy, you know the saying: ‘something burn it all down just to be king of the ashes’. Also didn’t something similar happen when the Air Traffic Controllers tried to strike against Reagan? Yet that didn’t stop him too much. Correct me if I’m wrong. ---

Every era has its own special circumstances, true, but I answered the specific question you asked, has resigning ever, without then asserting that it definitely will have an important impact in this era. I hope it will prove to be another pebble in an oncoming avalanche of consequences, but there’s no way to predict this with any degree of confidence. One can only hope. ---

It appears that demonstrations are becoming more confrontational here in MSP. ICE-holes are becoming more aggressive and violent toward demonstrators, dragging people out of cars, dousing them with tear gas, stingers and the like. Some right-wingers have been showing up and trying to instigate violence, but by and large the demonstrators don’t seem to be taking the bait. I hope that continues. ---
