I think the “I was just following orders” thing is something that protesters and news outlets and everyone needs to be reminding ICE agents about. They need to know that, despite what your boss tells you to do, if it’s illegal you’ll still be prosecuted for it. And prosecutors need to know that we’ll stand behind them when they start doing just that.
Remember, ICE, the only person protecting you is Trump and he won’t be around forever.
Well, some politicians recently made a video reminding the military that they should not follow unlawful orders, and that’s not going very well for those politicians.
Just barely veiling it? trump has bemoaned why we don’t get immigrants from ‘good’ countries, meaning lily-white countries. Various branches of the government are coming out with slogans that are clearly aping past fascist / Nazi sayings and propaganda. ICE agents are allowed to detain people on the street who just ‘look’ like they could be undocumented. Oh, and the recent suspension of all immigration visas for 70-something countries. I don’t think I’m one to be sensationalist in my opinions, but this administration seems have turned full-on white nationalist.
We are really living in an insane timeline right now.
That is a perfect example of barely veiling it. They’re not quite but almost saying, bluntly, that they need to make the country more white.

Probably not. I hope he will go to prison for his crime. He may well realize the horror of spending the next 30 years in a cell. And throughout his sentence he will complain that he is the real victim. He will never understand that he was wrong.

Elon has already said the quiet part out loud and caused no conservatives to turn away from him. He’s also amplified anti-“globalist” propaganda and did an actual Nazi salute and lost no support from those who should know better.
Of I could be wrong about losing absolutely no support since no one can vote against him. But it would be on brand for the party who lost no votes after 1/6.

They lasted 12 awful years though, where they had complete control over Germany.

Sadly have to agree with you and the others who responded to my post. This will likely get much worse and more violent before it is over. It will probably be limited to metropolitan areas in blue/purple states since it appears the people in rural areas and red states are pretty happy with what is happening.
I don’t think that’s actually true. The red staters don’t mind the violence in other places, but would not be happy if it happened in their own locale. And I think Trump and his handlers know that enough to not send thugs to red states and urban areas.
Yup. They could round up brown people and terrorize neighborhoods anywhere in the country.
