I is a tarhd Muppet. First day back at irk since April. I wore a nice dress and my dress up birks and found out there is virtually no dress code. I will be a lot more comfy tomorrow. I finally got a call from my Dr’s office this morn asking if I still need an appt? Hell yes I do. Only been trying to get in since last Wed. So, I have an appt for Wed at 0900. I think I have a fever now. So tired of being sick. **cupcakes** I once had pneumonia and coughed so hard and much I pulled a rib out of it’s place and wound up in the horsepistol. Was very painful. A rib belt did help. **Sunny and Spidey and** all the other Sickies I hope everyone feels better soonest. Back to irk tomorrow and I am already dreading it. I hear rain which will make for good sleep I hope. ---

So my closing shift missed the train:dubious: , so I worked a double. And, once again, I’m up waaayyy too early. :eek: Whatever channel Airman was watching when he fell asleep last night turned into an early-morning rock concert. I like classic rock as much as the next person, but waking up at three in the morning to “Born to Run” is a little much. I’m at least using the time wisely by reading my homework and considering my answers to a 250-word essay about the Miranda warnings and their relationship to criminal due process. Last night’s dinner was excellent Pork tenderloin with roasted Brussels sprouts (sorry, swampy), with ice cream for ‘zert. Tonight’s feast will be prepared shortly. The local sto’ had London broil on sale for $6.99 a pound, which is a steal all on its own, but then it was buy one, get one free. So I got two, one for dinner tonight and another for consumption at a future date. Said London broil will be prepared in the crock pot with suitable veggies. ---

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. _YAWN_ ‘Tis 50 Amurrkin out and clear with a predicted high of 78 and mostly N.O.S. for the day. Today I shall go to the liberry and then to the Pubic sto’. The Pubic sto’ has shrimpies on sale, thus there shall be steamed shrimpies for dindin tonight. OK, they have shrimpies on sale but will steam 'em free (We like the Cajun style) whilst I shop for other provisions. I envision baked red N.O.T., zucchini, and summer squish as the vegetative matter. Other than that I shall be my usual retired sloth. Now I need more caffeine and rumbly tummy demands sustenance. \*\*Sunny \*\*- you’re right about the Giant Meteor - it’ll be big enough to take out Bannon, Priebus, and Conway, too! So c’mon, Meteor!!! According to our local weather person, today’s high will occur at midnight! It’s in the 40s now and it will climb thru the day to the mid-50s, then start dropping a bit after midnight. They’re predicting rain for the inauguration - even the heavens are weeping… Another busy day ahead. I like working for this new engineer - he really keeps me occupied, and I’m learning his quirks and preferences. On Thurs, we’re having a group meeting about standardizing quirks and preferences - I’ve already submitted a fairly long list of items I think should be addressed, and I’ve got a biggie to bring up regarding procedures. It’d be great if we adopted it here. Meanwhile, there are control panels to be drawn! Happy Tuesday! ---

Woke up at 0530 remembering that I needed to put the clothing donation for Purple Heart outside today. So got up, prepared 2 bags full of stuff, and then went on to change the air filter and put the step ladder back where it belonged. After such an exhausting morning, think I’ll go back to bed… All y’all sick folks take care of yourself and get well. I’m probably jinxing myself, but I haven’t been ‘bedsick’ in over 18 months, so if I can broadcast good health, I’ll sentd it down your way. Oh, and 64F at 0620 this morning. I can stand winters like that… ---

Happy Toosday! It’s a foggy 34 degrees outside, 72 degrees inside. Bit of a grumpy morning today. I stayed up late hoping I would sleep through the night. I _was_ sleeping so deeply until Adam decided to wake me by scratching my arm. Then as I was sitting up he jumped up and knocked the remote and my cell phone off the table, with the remote landing on my toe. That _HURTS_! He has a new name but I won’t post it here. Then the dog started barking. I think I yelled at the cat loud enough for the dog to hear. I wanted to pop a breakfast burrito in the microwave, and then I remembered the microwave isn’t working right. I have no idea what is wrong with it. Yesterday I pushed the button and it worked for a second and died. I thought it might be a fuse but that wasn’t it. However, if I slam the door just right and give it a whoop in the upper right hand corner, it kind of sort of works. Anyway, I got it to work long enough to heat up the burrito, but I had to set it for 10 minutes instead of 1.5 minutes because for some reason that worked. I hope all you **sickies** feel better soon. I finally got all of last year’s paperirk filed and put away. Usually I keep up with it all year and don’t have such a mess to deal with. Today I am working on the overflowing kitchen junk drawer. I might even start irking on taxes. I don’t have any forms yet, but I can start going through bank statements and adding up deductions. Such Joy and Happiness :rolleyes: ---

Well, I’m home early, but not because I got my work done early. Shortly before 6:00AM this morning, when I’d been at work around an hour, I got dizzy and lightheaded, then very sick to my stomach. When I got rid of the contents of the latter I was still feeling dizzy. I tried to work through it but got to the point I couldn’t. I felt wretched enough that I called my sister and she came and took me to the ER. After tons of tests, a CT scan, bloodwork and a urine sample, a number of things got ruled out, like stroke. The doctor settled on something called “benign positional vertigo”. Not terribly serious, but something that needed dealing with. I have to go pick up a prescription to take as needed, and I’ll spend the rest of the day resting, but I called work and told them I will be back tomorrow. ---

Did you tell them about your ribs while you were there? I hope the positional vertigo fixes itself soonest. I understand it can be a real pain in the patoot. {{{hugs}}} The ice storm held off here. _checks_ Current temp is 34 degrees Amurkin, but the rain was kind enough to wait until after I got the kids to school and ran an errand. Looks like mixed ice and heavy rain around me, per the radar. Yay? The plans for today include, picking up 4 prescriptions that the pharmacist lost for an entire week and fetching the kids from school. Then I shall be trying marijuana for the first time since trying it college and not liking it. I feel very weird about it. Very weird. Apparently they’ve isolated a second compound (CBD) that doesn’t get you high and does all kind of medical things, like helps with nausea and pain and even tumors. So I got some that has lots of that and very little of THC (the buzz stuff), and we’ll see how it goes. That’s my day. Yep.
