Happy Moanday! I am an insomniac as I have yet to go to sleep tonight, after tossing and turning for over 4 hous I give up. I even took a sleep aid and still can’t shut off the brain. It probably does not help than I slept many hours this weekend. :smack: So Highjack away!😛 ---

Had an interview for a job. I do have one, and well, it’s not so bad that I’ll leave it without having another one, but at the same time it’s bad enough that thinking of staying in this situation for another year+ (minimum time to be shifted to a different project) gives me mental neck cramps. Giggly plus: the two US locations I’d be visiting quite often involve staying next to I-95. I’ve already lived next to I-95 in Miami (4 different addresses) and Philly, one would think I might start talking to a different highway at some point! Uggy minus: it’s one of those companies where, in order to avoid having to do two steps, they put programs on top of programs on top of more programs, and this breaks other parts so you need more programs… Right now there are two places I fancy more, we’ll see what happens about those. If I do end up with these guys, I’m planning on asking who lives thereabouts and can we meet for lunch on Saturday? 🙂 ---

I finished cooking and processing the squash last night!🙂 This is a BIG one, called a banana squash. Why I don’t know, it doesn’t resemble a banana in the least, except the outer skin can have a slightly yellow/ orangeish hue. This one was nearly two feet long/ I cut it into lengths, cut those in half and scooped out the insides. Not a lot of that, it doesn’t have as big a hollow interior as a pumpkin does. I did save the seeds. Lined two baking pans with foil and placed the squash sections on them, adding a little water. Baked two hours at 350 degrees. When they cooled I picked off the skin and threw the flesh, in stages, into a food processor. I’ve got a LOT of pureed squash, enough for at least eight pies, likely more. This evening I’ll divvy it up and freeze most of it, but I’ll make a couple pies with the free range chicken eggs I got with the squash. The cousin who gave me the stuff says I can have more. I may take another, not for pies but to try other recipes for this squash. Although it seems a lot of squash recipes are interchangeable. Off to work. Blurf, and more blurf. ---

\*\*Nava \*\*- if you find yourself around DC, there are several of us who can pull together a Mumpfest, for sure! \*\*FCD \*\*called just before 9 last night - he’s not coming home till Tuesday. his folks have an appointment today and they asked him to come along. He didn’t tell me any details, but I’m assuming it has something to do with him being the executor of their estate. Guess I’ll find out tomorrow. Much rain is promised this week - yay! Boss is officially gone - yay! N00b moving in with me today - meh. Much to do, and less than 4 weeks till vacation. YAY!! Happy Moanday! ---

Blurf. Lucky for me, I slept fine, 'cos today is gonna be a long day; I have a informal type interview for a coffee shop with sane hours at 3, then I’m maybe going to the Uni circus club first event of the year at 5 (to bring spare hula hoops for the ickle fresher’s to play with), then my normal juggling club at 8, which finishes 10pee emm, then I have irk starting at 2ayy emm. I ain’t missing my juggling club, I basically decided that if they schedule me in at a time when I say “please don’t schedule me then, or I shall be a useless zombie Nut”, well, I shall be a useless zombie Nut, and they can deal. I’ll try and squeeze a nap in somewhere, maybe I shouldn’t do the Uni club, the room’s always crazy crowded on the first session, so there may not be space for hula hoops anyways, and they’re planning another event on Thursday. I wish I had enough squish to be looking for extra recipes **Baker** , I did try growing bananana squash, but no luck. I had a pack of “Giant Pink Bananana” squash, because I’m basically an 8 year old in many ways. ---

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. _YAWN_ ‘Tis 71 Amurrkin out and cloudy with a predicted high of 88 for the day and rain comin’ in this afternoon. We shall see. Today I shall accomplish some cleanin’ of da cave. Dindin shall be cubed steak, rice ‘n gravy, green beans, squish and cornbread cause of that gnawin’ and a cravin’ I’ve had. Fun day ahead. Still better than goin’ to an orifice. 😃 **CupCakes** I like all kinds of squishes but have never had 'nanner squish. I feel so [del]depraved[/del] deprived! Not starting off well here. I’ve tried twice to print a simple 2-sheet drawing and twice, it’s choked my computer. I just did a complete restart - we’ll see if that helps. Meanwhile, I had an email from the engineering VP (and temporarily our direct boss) to come see him. I’d already left when he sent it, so I let him know I’m standing by when he’s got a minute free. My desk has been moved and the guy even brought in a vacuum cleaner and took care of the crap that had fallen between the 2 desks. The other desk hasn’t been moved yet - he left access for the computer guys, but it’ll be moved later. Such a hassle for such a simple chore… ---

Happy Moonday! I slept somewhat well last night. Drinking a bit of champagne before bed seems to be a good thing. I’m waiting for the furnace man to get here. I have to call the cable company sometime today. See what bullshit they will try to feed me, and if it doesn’t taste so good I guess I’ll switch to Verizon, because you don’t have a lot of choices when you live in a small town. My other option is get my cable from one company, my internet from another company, and my land line from another company. I think I started some family drama - well I didn’t start it, I just opened my mouth instead of keeping it closed like I normally do. I have an elderly aunt V and I try to call her about once a week. It makes her happy to hear from me. I’ve been trying to reach her and I found out she has been staying at my cousin’s, so I called my cousin M. My cousin M is hostessing the Christmas Party this year and I told her I’d be coming since the HFH isn’t coming. The HFH is mad at this cousin M, but I kept that to myself. However, I did mention that I was a little upset with the uncle J who keeps asking for my grandmother’s ring. It seems I am not the only one, the last time my aunt V was in the hospital, and in very bad condition, he called to ask her about my grandparent’s bedroom set. It’s got to be close to 100 years old, very heavy, well made furniture. My cousin M has it. When I told her about the ring she just flipped and said don’t you dare give that ring to him and she is going to talk to my aunt V. I know aunt V will call up uncle J and tell him off. Well, I warned everybody I wasn’t keeping my mouth shut anymore. The only reason I didn’t tell cousin M why the HFH is mad at her is because the HFH has said some mean (and not true) things about cousin M and I would never want to hurt cousin M by repeating them. After the way the HFH has talked about cousin M, I’d think she have a lot of nerve to show up at the party anyway. ---

I’m super tired for somebody who only left the house for an hour the entire weekend. 😃 But I made curtains and my bedroom is _very_ dark now. And I started on a quilt for my bed (again - this one I might finish because it’s easier). And I watched a whole lot of cartoons. Temperatures plummeted this weekend, so the a/c has been hauled out of the window and the wardrobe has been rotated. Winter clothes take up so much more room than summer clothes, and that’s annoying. But autumn in the Lesser White North is perfect, so I’m not going to complain until it starts snowing. And even then, I try not to complain because I hate summer, so I’m not allowed to hate winter, too. Those are the rules I made up. **Nava** , I live minutes away from I-95, but I somehow doubt you’ll be this far north. 🙂 ---

I just wrote to that agent asking to remove me from the process, because the more I thought about the Ugg part the Uggier it got. But I have added “Dopefest near DC” and “meet Drae in Maine” to those vague plans I have to drive the bits of I-95 I still haven’t, as a vacation someday 🙂 ---

Up at 0500 as usual. Lawn mowing yesterday turned out to be easier than I thought, I waited until the evening and most of the yard was in shade. **Sari,** there are times I’m glad my family is so small (1 brother about 400 miles away, one cousin out in California, everyone else has passed on). It seems like a lot of drama (yes, I am pulling your leg a bit). Still, hope it all goes well. **Nava** , if you end up on I-95, I can make it to a MMP-meeting, it isn’t all that far. ---
