I’m on a tear the last couple of years going to every surf, sixties, retro garage concert I can. I really want a piece of clothing that makes it easy for fellow enthusiasts to find me in a crowd. This is the item I have my heart set on…

I’ve only seen one of these in the wild worn by the guitarist for the Phantom Surfers. I’ve searched online and all I can find is a used, numbered reissue from 2012 on eBay for $400! Rat Fink and Big Daddy Roth branded hats and other items are innumerable and easily purchased online at a reasonable price. But not the lowly felt Hillbilly Crash Helmet. I guess I could make my own bootleg hat, but that would be wrong…and inviting someone from the Roth estate to have my legs broke.
