I stand corrected by myself. According to their website, Johnny Van Zant, Skynard’s lead singer, is Ronnie Van Zant’s younger brother, not his son. ---

I was waiting for some sort of nod or other acknowledgement to him during the “I heard Neil Young sing about us…” part of their performance, but it never happened. Glad to see Wilco won something. Green Day’s performance (and Quentin’s lead-in - “The concept was that all of the songs were good.”) kicked major ass. They even had fire! ---
