When it rains, it pours. Social Security actually managed to declare DH fully disabled two days before he died. Last week, a lump of money appears in the checking account from them. Some of said money was used as the down payment on a new car, and some bills. Today, I discover they’ve yanked all that money back with a description of “reclaiming.” No advance warning, naturally, so my checking account is severely overdrawn. I’m waiting for a return call from the person that we worked with last at the ODAR office, hoping they can at least aim me in the right direction. ---

Howdy Y’all! Another day survived. YAY! I found out today I need to absent myself from the orifice Thursday ( well, not have to, but I think it’s best I not be there) while interviews for my position are bein’ done. Three people, one of ‘em bein’ my assistant. She knows everything there is to know just about so she should be the one if’n TPB have any sense. Of course I have let that be known. Seriously though, she could start tomorrow and hit the ground runnin’. Leftovers for dindin bein’ there is enough for both of us and then it’s all gone away. **Peaches** I have some chikin thighs thawin’ for tomorrow’s dindin. GMTA! 😃 **BBBobbio** ouch! Dindin has been ingested and all the leftovers have disappeared. For now. They will re-appear but we won’t discuss when and in what form. Ima do a chikin stir fry tomorrow. So, tomorrow I shall wok on! 😃 **gotti** that sucks! Hope there’s a solution in your favor soonest. ---

**gotti** , I’d be spitting mad if that happened. I hope the get their [del]asses[/del] behinds in gear soon. I may get something after all out of my car and it’s accident. Finally a local agent made contact with the other company, Great Harm, and I’ve finally got a call from their agent about getting a damage/totaling estimate made. Every little bit would help when it comes to paying for a new vehicle. ---

Like the health insurance, it’s just something that happens by design. It’s a mix of that he wasn’t alive when they actually paid out the funds and that he didn’t make it out of May. As I understand it, if he’d survived into June, this mess wouldn’t have happened. I’ve been to the local office where they’re all sorts of nice. Suspiciously nice, really, and surprisingly efficient - I was in and out within an hour. I’ve filled out the form to claim the funds as his surviving spouse, and just have to wait for the “payment center” to get to it. The agent said he requested an expedite on it, so I may be overdrawn for only a week or two. Ugh… ---

I feel so domesticated and efficient! I prepped stuff for dindin tomorrow. It’ll just be a matter of heatin’ up the wok and cookin’ it all up which won’t take long. I even made rice which can be heated up easy in the nukelator. Go Me! **Fonz** we eat dindin early or earlyish most of the time. I also tend to cook stuff that does not take a whole lot of time and also use my slow cookers a lot. We’re geezers. We want our dindin early. 😃 ---

Blurf. Spent the day at irk learning about mental illness and what I need to know to be able to do my job. Damn, there are some crazy people out there, and they work for the gubmint. 😃 Tacos for dinner tonight, courtesy of the sprog. He is becoming a good cook when he puts his mind to it. Airman and I are watching the original American Pie movie and damn, is it creepy. The sprog is approaching this age and if he ever treats a girl the way the boys in the movie do, I will kill him myself. ---

Oh, and did you read in the article how the library served cookies today? Want to take a guess at who made them?😃 Fifty dozen cookies. As it works out 30 chocolate with white chips, 149 iced sugar cookies, 114 oatmeal-craisin, 107 chocolate chip, and 1oo each peanut butter and monster cookies. ---
