Dear, sweet child. The egg noodle incident was before cell phones, or at least before cell phones were something people other than doctors and scuba divers had.

Once the four express 10 items or less lanes were backed about half way through the store, I went into a regular line with my 7 items. I figured I’d rather wait behind one person with 30 items than 20 people with 5 items each. Someone got on line behind me with a full shopping cart and informed me “You’re in the wrong line. You have to go to the express line.” 😕
